Rickie Fowler Looked Like a Safety Cone on Sunday
Rickie Fowler got into the Waste Management Phoenix Open on a sponsor exemption. Before the event, I tweeted that perhaps the title sponsor would be willing to burn/recycle Rickie's clothes as a service to the tournament.
On Saturday, though, I thought Fowler had a killer fashion day with his blue pants.

I mean, I would love to wear those.
In the final round, though, Fowler clothier Puma Golf must have drawn inspiration from a safety cone.
If Fowler wins on Sunday, I highly suggest he does the Safety Dance. (Irony alert! Given Fowler's fashion bravado.)

I think Fowler's gonna wear orange
and white every Sunday, his Oklahoma State college colors.
But speaking of safety cones, he surely played it too safely on 16. Very atypical.
Yeah, didn’t like what he did on 15. I was surprised that he laid up, and then he lost by a shot.

15 wasn’t the problem – be serious. He’s #1 on Tour from 100 yards. His problem was pushed shots especially on the back 9. A pushed long iron at 15 is water. Brandel Chamblee has no room to criticize – he had a journeyman career laying up, and I’m still not sure Rich Lerner knows which end of the clubs to hold. It was the wedge at 15 that came up short – not the decision to lay up.
The putt at 16 that came up short – then the pushed tee shots at 17 and 18 were what cost him the tournament. This was the exact problem that cost him wins last Fall.
How about Brandel Chamblee talking about Fowler’s putt at 16 ? It was a “terrible putt”…but Chamblee also said that he hit it with “perfect weight” and hit it right where he wanted to. Say WHAT ??
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
He just left it short at 16. Wasn’t a terrible putt. Just not enough on it.

I meant the 15th, not 16th hole.
Aw forget it. Let’s call the hole thing off.
Rickie Fowler is ultra talented...
…isn’t he? I mean, he’s very exceptional. And he’s lighthearted enough to wear all kinds of awesome colors.
don’t you have to be “ultra talented” to wear clothes like that ? if not, you just have people laughing at you.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Agreed, court
Fowler is an awesome talent. Reminds me of a young Seve, with the short game. But, like Poults, one needs to be good to wear that stuff. Come to think of it, he makes Poulter seem conservative at times. Should be interesting when they are paired together, lol.
I love colors, but not safety cone colors. And I get that they’re OSU colors. But he can do black, white, and orange and still be in Cowboy compliance.

Ryan,
regarding the blue pants you liked so much….It hasn’t been that many years since we did wear pants like that, and bell bottomed to boot…As old as I am, I have to check my closet to see if I have any left….hahahaha….STUB
I'm amazed people have not mentioned Doug Sanders
He had more outfits and matching shoes than Poulter could dream about. I saw an article some years back he had over 200 pairs of shoes.
