Snow at Augusta 50 Days From Masters, Gone 49 Days Out
Someone at Augusta National sent Jim Frank an excellent and stunning set of photos of snow on the ground at Augusta National. (They're also at A True Golfer, so I don't know who got them first or what, so let's give both a hoorah.)
This photo on from 11 is my favorite of the set, but the others are fantastic.

The Southern Blizzard of 2010 laid 4 to 6 inches on the ground. And after having nearly 90" of snow here in DC this winter, I would probably entertain playing an entire round at Augusta with that on the ground.
Speaking with Steve Ethun, communications director for Augusta National, he told me that the snow was on the ground for only about 24 hours. No snowy Masters after all.

Ah Ryan
it may look like snow, but by decree of the membership, the Dogwoods and azaleas will bloom on command for the Masters…STUB
Azaleas yes, snow NO!
Sorry Patricia, after this winter I no longer see beauty in snow. :o(

The really interesting thing is that the photos show that the greens with the coil system underneath have very little snow on them. Cool how that technology works.

OK
That’s kinda cool, but azaleas are cooler.

Okay, so you guys got southern technology and southern hospitality going for you,
but the list ends there.
(Just kidding, Court. Wouldn’t want all southern hell to break loose over a blog comment.)
I submit for your approval...
Southern Belles vs Lavern and Shirley
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
I once met actress Sabrina Lloyd in Manhattan right after her show Sports Night
got canceled. I said to her: "I can’t believe a great show like yours gets bumped after just a few seasons whereas “Laverne & Shirley” will last forever." She smiled, agreed, and thanked me.
Maybe...
…I’m starting to think Mother Nature is a woman scorned by a golfer.

Or perhaps Father Time has caught up with Mother Nature.
That could press her buttons, which don’t look as cute as they used to.
Reminds himself...........
To leave snowshoes in suitcase and check conditions prior to packing for Augusta in May.

Are all you posters aware,
that this scene to Wendy and Easing means they can get out and lash around….lol…STUB
You can see our footprints
Actually no snow here since Jan. (or at least only flurries, hailstones, sleet, etc) but still the most bitterly cold winter I can remember down here on the South coast. Still, rounds are pretty fast! Especially as I’m only willing to play 9 holes until it warms up.
