Lorena Ochoa Excited for '10 Season, Not Twitter
Lorena Ochoa participated in a press conference call on Wednesday in anticipation of the 2010 LPGA Tour season.
Some interesting tidbits from the call:
- She expects to play either 22 or 23 events this season out of the 25 announced events. Natalie Gulbis committed to every event on the schedule. While Ochoa is a little shy of that, it's close enough.
- No LPGA Tour players were at her wedding, which was in Guadalajara. It was a small ceremony and Ochoa says, "Right now I'm enjoying the moment."
- As for having children soon - which she has previously said would promptly end her playing career: "Having kids of my own, I think I still want to wait a little bit. I'm going to keep playing for a few years, and then after that we'll make a decision." For now, she is living in Mexico City with her husband and AeroMexico CEO Andres.
- Asked if she was or would be using Twitter? "No, never. I'm not that type of person for sure." Hmm, that sounds like an insult...

Andres...Ochoa ?
No LPGA players were at the wedding ? That’s a real surprise.

Now that she’s married and settled into a comfortable life (for life) I wonder if she will regain her competitive form. Lorena was hardly dominating last year…and there’s only so much of a window for her to run the table.
OMP, don't listen
to CG…Lorena isn’t going to run any table this year…And, her focus is going to be toned down quite a bit…With the Big Wieze coming out, plus some of the others, the Queen is dead, long live the Queen….CG, ya still got time to get with EM and myself on that band wagon…“Oh when the Saints go marching in, I want to be in that number”…Here’s for Ping, cause I know he’s waiting for it….GO BIG WIEZE…LOL…STUB
Actually, my money is on Anna Nordqvist having a better year than Wie or Ochoa.
Wie will be a great player after she leaves college and no longer has to divide her attention between school and practice.
Ochoa, well, she has a family now, and that will take a lot of adjustment for her. Plus, she has a loopy swing that if it is out of synch, then she’s going to struggle. When it isn’t, she’s awesome. That says streaky player to me.

Not a bad pick with Nordqvist – lotta game with her
Wie isn’t in classes during the season. She takes fall and winter quarter classes that end…well…during the first few weeks of the season while they’re in Asia. Probably didn’t need those last classes and reviews anyway.

EM,
your mentioning the storm, really did us in…It’s 3pm, we already have 5 in snow, 7 forecast and temp in mid 30’s…I already have 2 in icey slush on patio..In 20’s tonight, should make traveling mucho funo tomorrow…I wonder if we can send Jumpin some of this stuff…Hey, Ya don’t think that Wendy and Easing have anything to do with this do you? just thinking with all the ribbing we gave them, thought maybe they got their hands on one of your Voodoo dolls…and has anyone heard how Easing did in his Comp?? kind of flying under the radar on us….Well, about time for a libation, I see their freezing their buns off out there in sunny California…wow, do I feel bad for them…yea right…STUB
5" of NEW snow ?? Yikes !! Is this the “regular snow event” the weather geniuses were talking about on TV this morning ? As if any more snow would be “regular” after all you guys have gotten the last 10 days.

Stub....it's been snowing here since
6 am, but just when it was starting to accumulate, it stopped and all melted. It’s supposed to snow all night and we are supposed to get 4" more tonight.

I'm so sick of winter,
and being stuck in the barn so to speak, altho I can swing here in my bedroom/sitting room if I keep it to a 8 iron or less…. Don’t worry or feel to giddy EM, your going to get your share…CG…if they are predicting a dusting, you’ll probably get a couple inches of ice, and with those hills, won’t that be sweet…Did you say you were in Dunwoody? After living down the block from the Governor’s house, I was building a house in Cobb County at a place called Indian Hills…CC…Ford Motor co was developing it….very pretty place…we were about 2 weeks away from moving in, wife had picked out wall papers, etc…was not a happy camper when we got transferred to Dallas….STUB
I’m in Tucker (a NE side burb) – but you know the excitement in this town when someone even mentions snow. A few years back, one of the weather geniuses said that there would be snow the next day – schools and businesses shut down – grocery stores had runs on bread and milk….you guessed it – not a flake – almost warm and sunny the next day.
I’ve played Indian Hills – nice layout – but MAN does it hold water. ………wait……more Wynn McMurray…………ok, back…..it’s a nice subdivision and area, but you wouldn’t believe the traffic these days.

I haven't been near
the Atlanta area for some years, but yea, if it’s like most other places, the traffic problems are unbelievable….A friend of mine lives a bit north of Dallas, and offices down town…It takes him 45 min to an hr. to go to work and longer to get home…Hell, that’s LA traffic…They keep building these mega apartment complexes and you wonder where all the people are going to come from….the next thing, they have a waiting list to get in…Isn’t progress wonderful…Yea, I know where Tucker is…STUB
Have you called your friend in Dallas ? Looks like they’re getting a nice snow storm there, too.

Court....the Weather Channel just said 2-4 inches for Atlanta.......have fun!
