Long Drivers’ response to Lawless lawsuit: No women's division
December 23 -- Some three weeks after the LPGA responded to Lana Lawless’ discrimination lawsuit by offering membership to transgender women, Long Drivers of America said it would abide by LPGA rules, with one minor exception. LDA said it would continue banning women from competing in a separate division.
The issue, according to LDA, was not one of discrimination but of disinterest. Seems as if not enough women wanted to participate in the contest that Lawless won in 2008 -- just before the organization disbanded its women’s division.
“Long Drivers of America has no plans to conduct any women’s long drive events in the future and has not conducted an event for women since the 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship,” LDA attorney Thomas Kemp said in a statement, according to Golfweek. “Should sponsorship interest change and participation increase in women’s long drive and the LDA does conduct a women’s event in the future, it will follow the LPGA’s rule change and permit participation of transgendered women. Women of any age may compete in the open division and women who meet the age requirements may compete in the various senior men’s events.”
In an Oct. 12, 2010, lawsuit, Lawless, formerly a male police officer, charged the LPGA and LDA with discriminating against transgender women. The LPGA changed its “female at birth” rules on December 1. Golfweek obtained LDA’s statement on December 21.
Kemp and Lawless’ attorney, Chris Dolan, did not respond to requests for comments.

well - at least she's consistent...
…but this one is special. Usually we have to step in with the obvious corrections to the “report” – here, she makes an obvious mistake – then corrects herself with the actual facts in the very next paragraph…but doesn’t bother to go back and edit before posting.
Emily – women aren’t banned – read the quote from the LDA in your own post. They aren’t having women’s events because there isn’t enough participation. Women are welcome to participate in OPEN competition and senior competition as long as they are old enough.

I do apologize
As noted, I’ve corrected the overblown rhetoric. No more late-night carousing (if only) before posting. On that note, happy holidays to all and a special good wish to Charles for a speedy recovery.

Well, if Handi and Court won't
address it, I will…..this he/she did as I suggested, and packed some of that lost weight back on her Arse….Than, he/she wated to compet again, cause the distance lost, could be regained by swinging that fat Arse around quickly……Ah, but she got out foxed (no, no, pun intended on the foxes) when they dispanded the event for lack of interest…Just shows ya, that maybe they ain’t as many he/she’s as we thought, or else, they is all down there in Sing-a-por with Ol Chip-n-p……STUB
he wanted the LPGA to change their rule so he could get an LPGA teaching certification – it’s easier to get than a PGA of America teaching certification.

Very true Court. She/he could have done the USGTF thing and saved us all some grief.

Because I live in SE Asia and have Thai friends. One of them got married not so long ago to a Brit guy here. Her brother is now her sister, if you catch my drift. The wedding was beautiful with all the Thai trappings as well as the Western. During the speeches, the best man remarked that the brides brother had better tits than the bride. It brought the house down.

I’d suggest watching the New York bar scene in “Crocodile Dundee” for a quick tutorial on how to make that determination. :-)
