Wind, Rain and Cold Can't Keep 17 Year Old From Getting Her LPGA Card
Quick note: Jessica Korda, the 17-year old wunderkind, has earned her Tour Card after coming in second at the LPGA's annual Tour School Finals. She finished with a 77, and dropped to second behind winner Aree Song after having the third round lead. Song's 74 was good enough to earn her medalist honors.
Korda is the daughter of former Czech tennis star Petr Korda (a former finalist in the Australian Open) and has burst onto the golfing scene after a string of successes as an amateur. She played in the tour qualification tournament as an amateur, but announced shortly after she completed her round yesterday that she will turn pro. Korda will turn 18 in February.

Some pretty darn good genes in that pool. Petr was incredibly fun to watch on the tennis court – always a favorite of mine. If you beat the guy, you really had to work hard to do it – and beating him wasn’t easy. You can count on a lot of that same kind of heart in Jessica. I’m looking foward to seeing her playing with the pros.
