Ian Poulter Wins; Is Back In Top 10
Ian Poulter won his lucky 13th tournament as a professional yesterday in Hong Kong, and it was a win that vaulted him back into the OWGR top 10.
Poulter began the day on the Fanling course with a two stroke lead, and quickly he needed to overcome some self-made adversity. He found water on the third hole, but quickly bounced back to birdie three of his next four. Meanwhile, Simon Dyson, the winner of the event in 2000, was charging up the leaderboard to to briefly take the lead, but the colorful Englishman held firm and held off Dyson with an eagle on 13 to secure the win.
Dyson and Matteo Manassero finished joint second.
Poulter was pleased with his day and the win, remarking that "today I actually played better to shoot three under than I did in shooting 10 under on Friday." Later, he added "I felt as if I just kept going about my business, I'd make a few birdie putts and that would be enough to win. It's very pleasing to do so."
Regarding moving back into the top 10, Poulter quipped "it's nice to be back inside the top 10 on the rankings especially after being number five earlier this year in winning the Match-Play Championship." Still, he is not satisfied with simply being back in the top 10. "The next goal is to get to number eight and then back up to number five."

Manassero is going to be a star
Actually he already is. What a great kid and what a wonderful golf swing to boot.
If anyone watched the telecast – did yous see Poults kissing his ball marker after he won?? Looks like he found it!
Common, woman up
he didn’t find it, ya gave it back to him….Hey, it’s rumered that Lawless is headed to Singapor to teach….If ya see a heavy set LADY with 5 o’clock shadow in the next stall….watch yur step….jis sayin mind ya……STUB

Yes, I saw it, Chip
However, if it hadn’t been for you I wouldn’t have known what it was/why he was doing it as the commentators didn’t refer to it at all. You’re “added value” indeed.
Manassero looked so calm & happy; what a silky smooth swing.
Just love young Mateo Wendy. He and McIlroy are such fun to watch. Mateo is so cool, calm and collected and Rory is grip it and rip it. If these two are going to be a big part of the future of the game, then the game is in good hands.

Oops, should have been a comma in there Wendy. Court will be on my case for that one,,,,,,, threw a few in there as spares for the next transgression.

I didn't know Court had such a passion for commas
‘though I do know he likes a space bar before his semi-colons, Chip – so you’re going to be in trouble either way ;o) (Just to be on the safe side).
You do know that Italians are supposed to be the worst “drivers” in the world, don’t you? Accelerate, brake, swerve – repeat. Not our Mateo, however.
Italians worst driver ? really ? I thought
it was the British…their always on the wrong side of the road…..STUB
Italians, By Far
If you have ever driven on the Amalfi Coast — sheer rock on one side on the road, death by a 2000 meter drop on the other, yet are overtaken on a blind curve repeatedly, you know know exactly of what I speak.
Were it not for the Italians, it would be the French.
The best drivers in the world are Germans, and by a long, long shot.

by far the worst are the Vietnamese...
You have to drive like an Italian to ride safely in Italia!! “You” are the danger there, you slow, cautious drivers from “straight roads”" lands!! ;)

Yep, the roads are nice and straight in Le Luberon, where I learned how to drive.

So we've learned on the same beautiful roads :)
mmm…i’d say this road is either in the mountains surrounding Nice, or Grasse, or one of the roads climbing from San Remo to Ceriana??? Great roads to drive a classic :) !!! a video from a friend back home..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwjN1i77eQ4
souvenirs for you OMG? :)

He's OK with "Lord" or "Highness"
but “OMG” is simply too much ;o)
Gorges de l’Ardeche in France was hairy as hell, particularly driving a RH UK car in France. Note to passengers: Do NOT point out scenic drops to driver. It’s a bit like coming down on a chairlift from a mountain and discovering you have vertigo.
I truly miss those roads, especially driving my uncle’s old Mercedes convertible. J’adore Provence!
I do joke about “highness” etc with my wife, but I am about as serious as one of the 3 Stooges when I make such a quip. I am quite aware of who the brains in our operation is at home (not me) and who should rightfully be running the shop.

Provencal Poseur! Can see you now on the Cote d’ Azur in your Mercedes convertible. What the hell was that cult song – would Court know?
Wish the Benz had been mine. Instead, it was loaned by an uncle who wisely kept a short leash on the American 16 year old eager for romance and excitement. I guess no matter where you live or where you are from, some things are the same everywhere! Mainly I spent time around Aix-en-Provence with some side trips to Nice and Marseilles with others in between. Such a wonderful, beautiful and idyllic part of the world, a place where many of the rest of us could learn about the true priorities in life.
Of course, I am quite fond of places like Wiltshire and others like Bourton-on-the-Water, which is, as I recall, not far at all from the underrated Lyneham Golf Club. That parkland track vexed me many years ago, and I really would like to challenge it again albeit with enhanced skills.

It was "Where do you go to my lovely?"
& has really nothing to do with anything other than it makes me think of the south of France..
Ah, to be 16 & in the heady south of France. I went to live & work in Paris at an early age & have some incredible memories – as well as acquiring a French ’usband.
Wiltshire is close by – but regret never have played any golf there.
Forza Manassero!! :)
How good are the Italians those days!! It’s umbelievable, coz nobody really cares about golf in Italia..it’s all about football and politics..and pasti :)

Agree that 2011 is going to be a superb year for golf
because so many things are up in the air. Pleased for Poulter, though I can’t pretend he’s my favourite Euro golfer. Hoped GMac (or Rory) would come through & hope he hasn’t run out of steam to contend at Dubai.
Hey, Hey what's going on here
What happened to Stinky Cinky ? man, yur sure getting to be fickle….STUB
I’m wondering what’s wrong with #9, #7, and #6…and what happened to “it’s just Tiger and me” ? :-D
Nice week for Poulter – no bogies until the 3rd hole in the 4th round, and an excusable bogey on the 72nd hole when he had 3 putts to win. (personally, I’m happy getting to the 3rd hole without a bogey anytime) (lol)

Great tournament
Congrats to Poulter, Lots of good chase by others on Sunday down the stretch, but Poulter shut the door with that eagle.
The broadcast and announcers did quite well and they showed a lot of players especially the top 10 leaders. The way it should be.
I’m back btw, ;o)

If you’ve been reading my Facebook page, you would have seen the utter smart-aleck post I put up a couple of nights ago:
Breaking News: Ireland has agreed to be acquired by Apple Computer. Apple will assume all Irish debt, and the country will be re-branded as “iLand.” Steve Jobs will be CEO of the new country.
by Charles Boyer on Nov 23, 2010 1:39 PM EST up reply actions
I like it - iLand indeed.
I think my Irish cousins would laugh too.
Not a member of Facebook (tried to join, but got put off by needing a “profile”).
For anyone who does have Facebook, you can take a look at tributes to Easing’s son, Jamie, on “Yakka Harris” or Yaka(James) Harris.
I started with nothing more than a brief little profile, and next thing you know, old friend, schoolmates and all of my other friends started finding me. That made it a lovely place to drop in pictures of stuff Maggie and I are up to, and I go on there a few times a week just to keep up. By no means is it my most important web stop, but it is a convenient place to see what friends and relatives are up to!

No effect at all Wendy
We have no money in the banks there as of yet, but I’m not worried about it at the moment. The news media tend to oversensationalize things. We loved Ireland and so far it is our hands down choice to open up our euro office. We are taking one more trip after the Holidays are over to N. Spain and to Gurnsey as well, before we make our final decision. We are hoping to be up and running late March.
