Sun Mountain's Really Sorry About That Rain Gear
The defining moment of the opening day of the Ryder Cup – other than the first rain delay in a baker’s dozen of years – had to be the rain suits. During the seven hour weather delay, the players complained that their Sun Mountain rain suits were no working as advertised. Instead of shedding water, they were bagging it. Team USA switched out to ProQuip suits from the Ryder Cup merchandise tent.
Although we saw the suits worn again throughout the weekend, Sun Mountain’s reputation was hammered in the process. On Monday, they issued an apology from their Facebook page.
Well, I can deliver that apology for you tomorrow at the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship – where I will be caddying for Hale Irwin in the pro-am. (Buried lede, huh?)
It seems like the gaffe has already taken its toll. Courtesy of Golf Blogger, it looks like it is a Sun Mountain Fire Water Sale!

Sun Mountain makes great rainwear, as long as the forecaster promises the weather won’t be “torrential.” That’s in the same class as “I’m sorry if you were offended by my remarks (which were intended to offend).”

Now, Now...Mrs Bale do you know for a fact the names were
stitched ?..looked like a stencel to me….and the reason ? well let me tell you….most of the folks out there in the land of wind and rain didn’t know who was who on the US side….course the strong drink made it even harder….Question….HOW COULD SUN MOUNTAIN MAKE THE GEAR AND NOT TEST THE HELL OUT OF IT ?.I think it was done to give the press something to write about…jis sayin…..STUB..
Not even close Court...She either is Mrs Bale,
or reverts back to OLD PENNY…..she can take her pick…..STUB
The names on hats for the Americans is interesting.
The Euro’s just have "European team "…says a lot I think.
A way for Pavin to show his sense of humor...
…when he meets with the Sun Mountain people (who are terrific people, by the way) – they shake hands…Sun Mountain apologizes profusely….Pavin shakes their hands….and hands them the bill for the rain suits they had to buy in Wales. :-D
