Kenny Perry Makes His Champ Tour Debut

Kenny Perry turned 50 on August 10, but waited until this week to make his Champions Tour debut. The Kentucky native makes his first 50+ start at the Administaff Small Business Classic in Houston.

Last night on Golf Central, Perry told Curt Byrum that he feels excited and reinvigorated to be on the Champions Tour. He also delivered the standard, "I get to be a rookie again" line that most guys say when they first reach the Land of No Cuts.

The Woodlands plays host to Kenny Perry's debut - as well as that of Steve Lowery. This event and the other Texas Swing event in San Antonio complete the regular year for the Champ Tour. They close out the year at Harding Park.

The last couple of seasons have been a real boon to the Champions Tour. Lots of big names turning 50 and moving to the play with the elder statesmen of the Tour. Popularity is bound to go up again like it was when the Kite’s and Watsons started playing that tour.
