LPGA Tour on Golf Channel: 16 Events, 7 Completely Live
When the LPGA Tour announced its decade-long television deal with Golf Channel at the beginning of last season, observers immediately wondered how many broadcast hours would be live action. Golf Channel unveiled that schedule today.
Golf Channel will broadcast 16 LPGA Tour events next season, including all 12 contested in North America. Of those 12, seven will be broadcast live for every round of the tournament. The broadcast window will be two to three hours. Ten events will have taped replays that same night.
The only major that Golf Channel will broadcast is the LPGA Championship. ESPN will have the US Women's Open early rounds and Ricoh Women's British Open. NBC has the US Women's Open weekend rounds. CBS will have the final round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship, but the first three rounds are undetermined.
Broadcasting 16 events leaves six events that were announced as part of the 2010 schedule off of Golf Channel air. Other events that will not be broadcast:
- the new, unofficial money Raceway Golf event in Jamaica
- Tres Marias Championship
- the Jamie Farr event in Ohio
- the new Acapulco event
- the Mizuno Classic

Can see Raceway Event on CBS
Great news, Mike. You’ll be able to see Raceway Golf on CBS on May 1 and May 2 when The Mojo 6 Tournament (being played in Jamaica) is aired. (Disclosure: I work with GolinHarris and Mojo Marketing and Media is a client).
Ricoh and Women's U.S. Open
Isn’t the first broadcast on ABC on weekends and the later on NBC Saturday and Sunday? ABC does British Open broadcasts whereas NBC does USGA.

As part of their new deal, ESPN gets all four rounds of all of the British Opens. They’ll still do early round USWO as well, with NBC on the weekend.

LPGA Classic
Glad to see the Golf Channel will be broadcasting all four rounds of the inaugural LPGA Classic live. That’s the first domestic event, and will immediately precede the Kraft Nabisco Championship, so if the LPGA Classic proves to be a solid event then ESPN and CBS can capitalize on whatever momentum there is an parlay that into pumping up the Kraft Nabisco.

Gov…Ol AAAAnald….I keep buying you books, and buying you books, and all your doing is chewin the covers off…LOL…this is the year of the BIG WIEZE…STUB
Good Luck to ya STUB !!!!
Just don’t bet the mortgage on it. MW has some talent, but I don’t believe she has the heart, stamina or strong will to amount to an above average professional. She hits a couple of bad shots and suddenly her ankle flares up or she suddenly gets heat stroke on a 75 degree day. IMHO..jumpn/progolf
