The Prognosticator: What's In the Bag Edition
A mere three months after introducing this feature*, the Prognosticator is back for its next edition. Inspired by the conversation going on around grooves and the PGA Show this week in Orlando, I figured I would make some predictions about what you and the pros will see in their bags in 2010.
Remember, try to predict three future happenings in golf based upon either:
- little information
- some information
- full information
- absolutely nothing substantiated to back my claim
So, here's what I'm going to predict:
- Some longer PGA Tour players will consider taking the driver out of the bag entirely to have a fourth or fifth wedge and STILL play a modern, multipiece ball. (Basis: Some information)
- There will be several players that will make the move to square shaped drivers in response to ball technology - allowing them to still gouge with less disastrous consequences. (Basis: Some information)
- Your next set of irons will likely not even give you the option of a traditional 3 or 4 iron. (Basis: full information)
* It turns out that I was right on two of my first three predictions. Meatloaf would be proud.

Farmers Insurance Open, Round 1 thread
Well, let’s see…. Mickelson got a lot of air time, as did Daly… The leaders, not so much. We could call this the Golf Channel “Tiger Treatment”….Not in contention but lots of exposure. Looks like J.D. is down the road. Still “shaking the rust off his game”. Phil’s only 6 back, but that doesn’t mean a whole lot with all the low scores coming on the North Course. Allenby’s -5 on the South was probably the best round of the day.

EM
He had to post it somewhere, Ryan isn’t in town to start a Farmers Thread this week. Ok comment on the Farmers in here also. LOL The majority of the guys that went low today played on the easier North Course today. Like ping said Allenby went low at -5 on the S.C. as did Ryan Palmer at -4. Phil and Ernie shot respectable -2,s on the S.C. as well. All four of them are playing the easier North Course today. We will see some big changes on the leaderboard today. Should be a great weekend for the “GOLF FANS”

Good Call PG
With no article, I figured this would be a reasonable spot to discuss round 1.

As Phil once said :
""I’m Such An Idiot"" Guess I can’t see past the end of my nose sometimes. I guess Ryans picture with the Swami Hat must have put me in a hypnotic state and I got confused. LOL
