Sybase Match Play Championship to LPGA in 2010
A new tournament in 2010. From Randall Mell at the Shag Bag:
The LPGA announced Tuesday the debut of the Sybase Match Play Championship. The tournament will be held at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Galdstone, N.J., May 20-23.
Sixty-four of the top players from around the world will compete for a $1.5 million purse, with the winner earning $375,000.
Hamilton Farm was the site of the 2005 and 2006 HSBC Women's World Match Play event. This will be the first official match-play tournament contested since its demise after the 2007 season.
Seon Hwa Lee defeated Ai Miyazato in the finals of the last edition. The LPGA continues to get healthier under its new Commissioner, Michael Whan.
Note: There used to be a tournament, CISCO World Ladies Match Play Championship, that was played from the late 90's and 2001 and 2002 at least. I can only confirm the last two as LPGA events. Annika Sorenstam and Grace Park were among its champions.

glad they filled in another week…but come on…not to be cheauvanistic, but women’s match play is painful to watch. Winning holes with pars – fairway…green,…2 putts….lather rinse repeat….wait for someone to miss a green or hit a tee shot into trouble. Match Play is fun because players can get aggressive and go for shots.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
wait for someone to miss a green or hit a tee shot into trouble
Or, wait for someone to get heat stroke or a ankle injury,,,buahahahaha
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
ain't that the truth
Last year’s Solheim Cup was a real snooze-fest. Everyone played lay-up (hey, maybe Tim Clark could qualify?), no one challenged the course. Except for when they did.
Truth has a well-known liberal bias.
lather rinse repeat
Hah! That was worth repeating.
Sunday singles at Solheim had a reasonable number of players challenging the course. btw, thank you for getting my back in that other thread. 8-)

you are being just a tad condescending to the ladies, cause your playing and their not…as for CG, isn’t every weeks foursome match play?…And yes, The pros play it a bit different, but still wail for the other to make the mistake and pounce on it…Same thing with a stroke play event on Sunday afternoon if it’s between 2 players…switches from stroke to match…As far as Jumpin goes…..nananana…PORK CHOP, PORK CHOP, GREAZY, GREAZY, WE’RE GONNA BEAT OL JUMPIN WIEZY, WIEZY….can taste those free lobsters a yourn now…Ol EM and I gotcha…LOL…STUB
It's just as cold up here as Wendy's place down south...
And I’m a bit older I’m pretty sure. Having been forced in golf exile by the weather , I was just trying to get Wendy out of the house, the poor lass. I don’t feel the cold too much these days, a swig of single malt helps too , lol
A very dear friend
ex-work colleague ,and playing partner died last year. He was ex-army and totally ruthless about making me play golf early in the morning. I can hear him shouting “Wimpy Wend” even now as I cower under the duvet.
PS – I shall be playing 2-3 times a week soon.
