Phil Mickelson Could Bust Out Ping Eye 2s Too

PrintTim Rosaforte is reporting that Lefty is pondering putting some old Ping Eye 2 wedges into play this week at Torrey.
Phil Mickelson toured Torrey Pines South Sunday with short-game instructor Dave Stockton by his side, and not one, but two Ping Eye 2 wedges tucked inside the Callaway bag over his shoulder.
Rosey says that Lefty - cute nicknames, boys - may not put the clubs into play given the backlash against John Daly and Dean Wilson using the wedges at Waialae.
How do you have to feel to be Callaway and Phil strolls into your testing facility and the interim world number one player says, "Fellas, could you rig up these twenty year old wedges for me?"
I had also heard somewhere that Phil is considering putting a six degree driver into play this week.
Honestly, if I were Phil or any player that was long off of the tee, I would take the driver out of the bag entirely some weeks. I would play a three wood and insert a fourth or fifth wedge into the bag.

always thought, that the sponsors got the endorsements done if the player used driver, had name on bag etc…Most do not use sponsors putters that’s for sure…so what would be the big deal with using the wedges…Isn’t it about playing your best?…after all the postings here regarding the grooves and how technology will win out anyway, let them go around the ruling and lets see good golf…works for me…STUB

I saw the interview with Rosie last night regarding Phils possible club arrangement. Show be interesting if Phl goes through with any of it. I believe PHIL will put that 6 degree driver into play this week at Torrey.

Yeah, they finally made it. They really played “tight” on offense and looked like they wanted to make it a “last possession” game….fortunately Brett threw the pick and we won the toss. WHO DAT
