Golf Schmorgasblog: Tiger, CBS Sports, and Other Stuff
Every once in a while, a day or a week comes along when a lot of good golf content is posted on blogs and websites across the 'Net. We put it together for you in what we call the Schmorgasblog. Since I was working on the Doug Barron piece today, I didn't get much of a chance to do post much else. I'll let these good folks do it for me.
- Steph Wei finally confirmed that, yes, CBS Sports golf commentators are not commentating on Tiger. And then she wonders why David Feherty got away with doing it anyhow.
- The AP reports that Jim Thorpe was sentenced to a one year prison term for tax evasion. He pleaded guilty in court in September.
- Greg Vara wonders at Devil Ball Golf if Fred Couples can revitalize the Champions Tour. For my part, I think he may, but he needs help.
- I got my hands on Christina Kim's book that she co-authored with SI's Alan Shipnuck (guest on this week's podcast). Emily Kay of the Examiner interviewed Christina briefly about the book. I'm liking it so far, and we'll have Christina on the show soon. She will break the tie that she has with Scott Van Pelt for most appearances ever on the program.
- Niceballz has a good post on Charlie Sifford, whose name was removed from the minority exemption handed out at the Northern Trust Open. Sifford was/is awesome.
- One Eyed Golf compiles the list of players that are best to have never won on the PGA Tour. His five guys have earned a staggering $54M in career earnings.
- And keep on the lookout for the Waggle Room iPhone app coming soon! Details to come!
