The McGladrey Classic Fills PGA Tour Fall Series Gap
The PGA Tour's Fall Series had a serious gap as it had been announced to date. By moving the Turning Stone Championship to a date opposite a World Golf Championship, the Tour needed to replace a new open date. It has done so by announcing the creation of the McGladrey Classic.
The $4 million purse event will be played at the Seaside Course at Sea Island, Georgia, from October 7-10. Davis Love III's foundation will serve as tournament host organization. Zach Johnson, sponsored by McGladrey and a resident of Sea Island, will also be "heavily involved," according to Commissioner Tim Finchem. Both have committed to play in the event.
The agreement is announced to be a three year deal.
The folks at Golf Digest let the cat out of the bag last night. RSM McGladrey revealed the details just a short time ago to CNBC's Darren Rovell. (Curse him and his handsome haircut!) The PGA Tour is releasing its information right now to the media.

Sea Island Is a Gorgeous Site
One of my grandmothers lives there and it is gorgeous as any of the coastal islands in the SC/GA chain without the garishness of Hilton Head.
If you have an extra few hundred thousand bucks laying around, the guy who owns half of the town I live in has a place on Sea Island that’s for sale…maybe you can get in 18 with Tad Fujikawa.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Only a few hundred thousand?
That’s a pretty low price for Sea Island.
Heck, most newer homes here on our Outer Banks that are within a block of the shore cost closer to a million or more.
Now THERE’S a place that absolutely begs for a world-class links course. Calling you, The Donald. Come build us a Trump National Corolla or Trump National Kitty Hawk. We got the sea, the sand and the winds…and enough Washingtonians to keep the place busy.
(And since it’s my idea, I get a free membership!)

Is she taking requests from Waggle Room fans to spend the week during the tournament? :-)
I write about golf at www.tees2greens.com, too.
And is she as gorgeous
as Charles claims she is?
