Breaking: Jim Hyler Named New USGA President
The USGA has nominated a new candidate to take over their presidency from Jim Vernon. He is another Jim - Jim Hyler. The USGA Nominating Committee has nominated Hyler for a one year term as President, and Hyler was almost surely be confirmed at the USGA Annual Meeting in February.
"I am deeply honored to have been nominated to be president of the United States Golf Association," said Hyler. "I love the game of golf and greatly respect its rich history and traditions. To serve the game in this capacity is a special experience, and I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity."
For the last three years, Hyler has been a Vice President with the organization. Most notably, Hyler is currently serving as chair of the championship committee.
Jim Vernon will retire from the USGA after serving two years as President.
