Crisis Averted: Cristie Kerr Knows She's Good

Jamie from Jamie in the Rough caught a good quote from top-ranked American Cristie Kerr in her presser yesterday.

I know how good I am. A lot of people say, well, she really doesn’t know how good she is. I do know how good I am. Sometimes I get in my own way.

Kerr is 13 points behind Jiyai Shin for the LPGA's player of the year race. She is ranked fifth in the world. So, she's good at golf.

But who would tell her that she doesn't know how good she is? What idiot would feed her that line? Maybe her husband was kissing up to her or something. Perhaps she needed some assuaging as she prepares to launch her line of fine wines.

But, I can rest easier knowing that Kerr knows she's good. I hope she can rest easier knowing that I know that she knows that she's good.

Now, go out and win something instead of giving away the US Women's Open.

yes – she did – but she failed the “do you know how good you are” written exam afterwards and had the title taken away. :-D

I would have gladly told her. She was not only a winner that week, but she was quite fetching and classy too.

She handled herself well that week, I thought. I just thought it was kind of absurd that anyone would tell her that she doesn’t know how good she is. Who says that?
