To Catch A Predator: Golf Pro Edition
Police officials in an Atlanta suburb pulled a Chris Hanson last night when they arrested 45 year old Barry Loman for soliciting sex with a minor.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports:
A Jonesboro golf pro who lives in Peachtree City was arrested for child exploitation Sunday after attempting to meet a person he thought was a minor.
Barry Loman, 45, was greeted instead by federal agents. He had driven to northwest Georgia for a rendezvous, arranged online.
Loman and his son were on the links Sunday afternoon for a tournament, Hamilton said. From there it appears Loman headed directly to Catoosa County, where he was arrested.
Clearly, this is reprehensible. But hasn't this guy seen the show?! I mean, really. And the guy teaches golf to kids in small groups at his club!

I feel for the regulars down there. Not because they lost their pro, but because their course’s name was undoubtedly mentioned in conjunction with him.
oh – it was. Atlanta “news” is at the head of the class on “if it bleeds – it leads” broadcasting. the story won’t last more than a couple of day, but they will grind it in as much as possible.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
I mean, it shouldn’t look bad on the club – just the guy. It’s not like the course knew he was a child predator. He had no record.
