Christmas in October in August on the Nationwide Tour
Twitter buddy and Golf.com's Anne Szeker just pointed out something that's downright hilarious. The Nationwide Tour event this weekend is the inaugural Christmas in October Presented by Kansas City Crusaders.

What. The tourney for the week of August 17 references a holiday that doesn't even exist. It's Christmas in July, not October. Halloween is in October! I mean, maybe I would take a tournament called Halloween in October because the Nationwide Tour guys are dressed up in costume like real PGA Tour players. But, then again, Halfaween is in April and is already a recognized holiday. Players will not be dressed in costumes like this guy.
This kind of massive oversight isn't even mentioned on the Nationwide Tour's site. Fortunately, a Google search explains that Christmas in October is a KC-based charity - not a tear in the time-space continuum onset by YE Yang's earth-shattering PGA Championship win.

It's good to have pro golf back in KC.
It’s the first stop in the metro area since the Champions Tour concluded the Greater Kansas City Golf Classic in 2006.

From your link
Nationwide Tour players have won 11 major championships and each at least once, most
recently Zach Johnson in the 2007 Masters
Huh?

I think they mean each major has been won by a Nationwide Tour grad at least one time. So, the Tour Grand Slam?

Ah, that makes sense.
It is a poorly worded sentence.

Yeah, that’s just bad syntax right there.

watch it now, RB – I don’t think Obama has included a Syntax in his budget…so don’t say that word too loudly. :-)

Hey – they got an early Christmas present in Kansas when their good-for-nothing governor abandoned the office ! :-)
I know what you mean about sentences like those, Cairo. They assume everybody reading them is in the same Nationwide Tour universe as the writer and they don’t explain themselves very well sometimes.
The Duramed Futures Tour, I believe, has the same claim with their graduates.

I don't think Sebelius leaving office fostered the Nationwide Tour stop.
I believe it was in the works with the local government and the folks at ClubCorp for months.
