Kierk Index Top 25 After PGA Championship

The PGA Championship, being worth 200 points, saw several shakeups in the top 25.  There is a new golfer at number one and Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood made moves up the board based on some nice play over the weekend in the windy conditions at Hazeltine.  Y.E. Yang also cracks the top 25 for the first time this year.

Star-divide

Here are the rankings after the PGA Championship.  Last week's ranking is listed in parenthesis by their rank for this week.

23rd (24):  Robert Allenby (535 pts.)

24th (NR):  Y.E. Yang (527 pts.)

25th (22):  Justin Leonard (509 pts.)

Last Five Out:  Ross Fisher (501 pts.), Stewart Cink (490 pts.), Kevin Na (487 pts.), Miguel A. Jimenez (471 pts.), and Sean O'Hair (469 pts.)

Worst Golfer of 2009 (827th):  Michael Campbell (-180 pts.)

This week will most likely see reduced points for the winners of the Wyndham Championship and KLM Open as the best players are either taking a week off after the PGA Championship or resting for the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs.

As another note, this is Tiger's first time as #1 for this year's rankings.  His emergence as the clear #1 after the PGA Championship ends Kenny Perry's seven week stretch as the #1 ranked player, which began after a win at the Travelers Championship.
