Phil Mickelson's Mother Has Breast Cancer, Too

PrintTerrible news coming out today in the San Diego Union-Tribune that Phil Mickelson's mother, Mary, has discovered that she too has breast cancer.
From Tod Leonard's story:
Tina Mickelson, Phil's sister, said Monday that her mother was diagnosed a week ago and will undergo surgery Friday at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Amy Mickelson had surgery for her breast cancer at the same hospital Wednesday.
Tina Mickelson said she wanted to make her mother's condition known to the public so that she could receive support and prayers, just as Amy did.
This certainly has to be devastating news to the Mickelson family. I cannot even imagine the circumstance of having my wife and mother suffering from any serious condition like this simultaneously.

That’s gottta be tough – wife AND mother diagnosed with cancer weeks apart. Hope the doctors can do their work and take care of these ladies.
This story came out midday on Monday, and I know it’s a tough story to write, but so many of the pieces I have heard on the radio, seen on TV, and read on the internet might as well be headlined “Phil Mickelson Causes Cancer” they way they are written.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
