You're Eating a Doughnut for Breakfast, Tiger Is Eating Warwick Hills
As our own Courtgolf pointed out, Tiger fired a rather pedestrian 71 yesterday at defenseless Warwick Hills - site of the final Buick Open. With Steve Lowery's 63 setting the pace, Woods look in rough shape at -1 on a course that lives for low scores.
Poor putting yesterday plagued Woods. Today, that problem has been resolved through nine holes. Tiger went out in 30 this morning. Playing back to front, Woods went out with four birdies and an eagle in the first five holes - including a hole out for eagle on the par 4 twelfth. Woods' only blemish so far is at 18, where he made bogey.
PGATour.com is starting to wonder if Woods can shoot 60. Perhaps not, but Lowery's 63 from yesterday is certainly within reach. And there's no chance of Tiger missing a second cut in a row.

Ok – so he let up on the front 9 (his second 9) – with an early birdie to balance out the bogey, and two more just for good measure – SQUEAKING in with a 63 to match Lowery.
Why rush things, right ? If you’re going to shoot 60 or even 59, why not save it for the weekend when more people can watch ?:-D
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
the only bad thing about this is that Woods’ 63 will be heralded – and Lowrey’s 63 will be forgotten.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
The reason for this is...
Lowery followed his 63 with scores of 75-73-72 and finished T63. The way to get people to not forget your red-hot rounds is to follow them up. Easier said than done (obviously), but there’s really nothing wrong with Woods’ round being heralded and Lowery’s being forgotten because Tiger capitalized on his 63 and Lowery did not.
That’s totally right. Crazy thing is that Lowery is kind of like Calc. Can score like crazy when hot.

63 is nothing compared to...
John Daly’s 51! What a remarkable score, just shattering the previous PGA Tour record! I’m so glad “taking golf serious” is paying off and JD is finally turning the corner!
Wait…what…that was a nine hole score?! Someone who plays professional golf at the highest level shot 51 on nine holes on arguably the easiest course that is played all year?
Daly hit for the bogey cycle and then some, with 2 bogeys, 2 double bogeys, a triple bogey, quadruple bogey and the rare quintuple bogey! The cardinal sin of playing professional sports is giving up and that’s obviously what John did.
I’ve played probably 50-60 rounds this year, with guys whose handicaps range from +2 to 10, and not one player in my foursome has even sniffed a 51 on any nine holes. Considering your average tour pro would be somewhere in the +4 to +6 handicap range, shooting 51 on nine holes is outrageous! This guy needs a full season in Europe or on the Nationwide tour. What an embarrassment!
