Andrew Giuliani Poised to Lose on Big Break, Just Like in Court
The New York Post is reporting today that Andrew Giuliani, son of former NYC mayor and Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, has been identified as one of the contestants in Golf Channel's next rendition of their Big Break reality show. The show is currently being filmed at Walt Disney World in Orlando - just a skip and a jump from Golf Channel headquarters. The winner of the competition will get to play in the PGA Tour's Children's Miracle Network Classic, which is played at courses on Walt Disney property.

In addition to being the son of the famous mayor, Giuliani is also best known for getting lambasted by a judge for his lawsuit against Duke University.
He got kicked off of the golf team in his junior year for his temper. Then he sued the university, claiming that he was granted "lifetime access" to their golf facilities by the former Duke coach. If you'll remember, the judge who presided over the case threw out the lawsuit and threw out a ton of golf and Caddyshack references in his decision.
Part of the reason Giuliani was dumped off of the team was for throwing an apple at a teammate. Big Break has that challenge where they have the players try to break a pane of glass with a stinger shot. I hope that the producers ensure that Giuliani doesn't use the shards of glass as a projectile.
Every reality show needs a villain. Golf Channel found theirs.

Don’t you know that the “confession room” pieces from the other contestants about him are going to be hilarious. I wonder how long he’s going to last – and if he’s first off, will he sue ?

Wouldn’t that be awesome? For as much as I hate reality shows as a genre, I have to admit that I’m kind of going to pay vague attention to Big Break for what Andy does. I mean, a different vague attention as opposed to Blair O’Neal, but vague attention. :)

BTW, since it applies to the topic, Shane Bacon has a funny post declaring his qualifications to get onto Big Break over Andy Giuliani.

Hard to argue with Shane’s credentials – but if he expects to get the Giulliani exemption, he’s just going to have to sue someone or some organization of prominence. :-D
