A Look at Tiger Woods' "Band-Aid" Swing
Devil Ball Golf's Jay Busbee is on vacation this week at a location even more secret than wherever Dick Cheney was hiding. Jay was looking for someone to come in and pinch hit for a post while he is away and I'm very thankful that he turned to me.
I decided to take a quick look at where Tiger Woods stands in the aftermath of the missed cut at Turnberry.
The conclusion? It's probably not as bad as you think.

So you basically sent him copies of what I’ve been saying since last July after the surgery, eh ? :-D
I’m still amazed at the underlying question of why Tiger hasn’t won a major – “geez, he won one on a broken leg and knee – why hasn’t he won #15 yet ?” Is it really necessary to bug the guy with such a silly question ?
WHEN he wins another major, all these questions will go away and be replaced by “how long before you break Jack’s record ?”, which is equally as silly.

I agree – I mean, it’s clear that he hasn’t figured it all out yet (and, yes, you were right about the knee). But, that’s not cause for panic. Why fire Haney? He won a slew of majors with him as the coach. It’s on Tiger either to master the swing, practice more, play more, or whatever it is.

The Haney debate is halfway interesting. Did Haney actually do anything for Tiger’s swing or game ? Or did he just keep the status quo from what Harmon had taught him and he won more majors with the Harmon swing than with anything he developed with Haney ? It’s too early to put any kind of criticism on the swing he has been working on since the surgery since the lower body work is so different than anything he has done before. (not snapping the knee) I hope the swing from The Memorial is what he ends up with – that was phenomenal. Great balance.

Yeah, if he can balance out to that Memorial swing, then he came out the better for it.
Personally, I don’t get the Haney hate. He has left Woods no worse off than Harmon’s swing got him.

That’s kind of the point. He left Harmon so he could go learn something from someone different and landed at Haney’s place. Butch was raised to teach his students to seek improvement from anywhere they could find it. I just don’t see that Haney is doing much for him…and it may just be that it took the knee injury for any obvious changes to be seen.
Then again, Haney said that Barkley’s problems were all physical. (and every PGA player said it was in his head) :-D

And more than that, Tiger and Haney have both said that Hank more or less is advisory, not really a coach. Like Tiger thinks something is wrong and Hank either confirms or denies.
