Adams Golf's Website Just Made Me Weep a Little
Darren Rovell of CNBC tipped me off to the fact that Adams Golf made absolutely zero mention of Tom Watson on their website this weekend. Well, there's still none, but this is the lone sad graphic that they have on their home page related to the Open Championship.

Oh, great. Your hybrids were number one. Why not Tom Watson?! Where were your " high performance, forgiveness and increased carry distance?"
At least mention the guy. I mean, he gave your company better exposure for longer than perhaps any player on your staff ever has. Maybe they should sign the petition to thank Tom Watson for what he achieved this weekend.
Meanwhile, Nike Golf has no shame in plastering the greatest golf villain ever Open Champion Stewart Cink all over their site. That's good PR.

To not plaster his face on their website? He appears in their TV ads, though.

I'd be surprise
I guess it’s hard to know, but it seems counterproductive to sign a guy to use your products and not even be able to use his name. Jeez, even if they just did a text mention, it would be something.
I’m wondering if they just don’t think it’s important enough to bother to put it on the website. The TV time on the broadcast is way more valuable. People visiting the Adams site are already interested in Adams products. Seems like a good idea to put it on the site, but there could be a myraid of reasons they didn’t.

Not important enough ? The website is pretty much free advertising – hard to imagine the Adams people thinking that having a major winner playing their clubs wasn’t important.
Let’s hope they have something special in mind – or they at the very least just slipped up and didn’t have anything prepared. But it sure seems like you prepare the web site and just don’t put it up if Watson blew up.
It is definitely weird…and a little disappointing not to at least congratulate the guy.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
ummm – it’s a little easier for Nike to do what they did – how often do see a big ad campaign for a runner up ?
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
You don’t – but this was pretty freakin’ special. I can understand not giving Kenny Perry a commercial – “hey, thanks for the ole college try.”

That's what I mean
Not important enough because he was a runner up. Maybe they had prepared for him winning and that’s not what happened. Important is probably not the right word. Maybe proper is a better choice. Obviously what he did was huge.

yeah – THAT’S what I was trying to say – they weren’t ready for a second place.
I’m no web site wiz – how long could it actually take for someone at Adams to put together a new graphic with a picture of Watson (just not holding the Jug) and some text ?
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
About 45 seconds
