Preview: Watson & Cink Enter Open Championship 4 Hole Playoff

PrintStewart Cink and Tom Watson finished 72 holes at the Open Championship at Turnberry at -2. They'll begin a four hole playoff that first began in the Open Championship in 1989, in which Mark Calcavecchia won his lone major championship against Wayne Grady and Greg Norman.
The playoff format is four holes, cumulative score. They will play 5, 6, 17, and 18. The low score wins the Championship. If the players are tied after the four tholes, then it will be sudden death on the 18th until there is a winner.

Cink
- Fifth - par, bogey, bogey, bogey
- Sixth - birdie, par, par, par
- Seventeenth - birdie, birdie, birdie, par
- Eighteenth - bogey, par, par, birdie
- Cumulative: -1
Watson
- Fifth - par, bogey, par, par
- Sixth - par, bogey, bogey, par
- Seventeenth - birdie, par, birdie, birdie
- Eighteenth - par, birdie, par, bogey
- Cumulative: E
