Two AT&T National Tix If You Can Tell Me The Worst Pro-Am Partners Ever

In honor of Tiger Woods' awful decision to play a pro-am with Tony Romo, John Boehner, and have Jessica Simpson sing the national anthem at the AT&T National, I want to give away tickets to see the golf this weekend at Congressional.

I have two tickets for either Saturday or Sunday at the AT&T National to the person that tells me the absolute worst possible pro-am partners (2) that there are on the face of the earth.  The better you can explain why they're horrible, the better.  You can do it via comments or over email.  I'll announce the winners later tonight.

are you talking about actual people ?? Types of people ? Celebrity personalities ? Games ? Are we competing or just playing ?

They should be specific people (you can use a pseudonym to protect innocent non-celebrities).

wow – that’s tough – because some of the people who seem bad for a pro/am where scoring is important are the people I would love to play with in a friendly round…like Charles Barkley. Or Jessica Simpson…if I get to pick the outfit. :-)

you’d hate to play with Michael Jackson…he draws a crowd, but it’s hit the ball….drag Michael…hit the ball…drag Michael…all day. :-D

and the people I would least like to play with may not even play golf – like Shrillary Clintax. AH ! So we’ll put The Slickmeister on the list because of his well documented penchant for cheating on the golf course…and many other places that have nothing to do with golf. Can’t have the cheating on the golf course.

number two would be….hmmm….a guy I played with one time who actually told a group of people that a round of golf SHOULD take 6 1/2 hours. I was ready to throw him in the lake after the second hole.

I’m going to keep this simple. The first individual I would not want in my pro-am would be that wonderful leader of Iran, Achmed I can’t spell your last name. Reason? He’s crazy and really doesn’t care for Americans. And being American it would just be awkward.

Number two would be that wonderful leader of North Korea. Pretty much for the same reasons as number one, but I will add that I wouldn’t be able to play because I’d be thinking of the puppet version in the movie Team America. And hitting a golf ball while laughing hilariously is complicated to say the least.

These were the two people who I decided to put on my list. I think most people wouldn’t want to be around them let alone play a relaxing round of golf with them. And I think it was cool of Tiger to play in the pro-am. It is a side of Tiger people rarely get to see.

you left off another good reason not to invite these to wunnerful gentlemen – those really well mannered “fans” in the galleries have no problem spraying the boo’s and other expletives. if they go over the line and really tick of these guys, they might push the big red button to the nukes they “don’t have”. :-)

Hmmm...

I’m going to have to second Kim Jong Il, not because he’s an insane dictator, but because his first time playing golf, he shot 38-under. The pressure would be bad enough playing with Tiger Woods, but I don’t think I could tolerate that kind of beating.

The other one would be Baghdad Bob. Don’t tell me there are no bunkers or water hazards anywhere on the course, Bob. I see through your trickery.

The Winner Is...

I think that Teg is my winner here. Teg, if you could email me your mailing address, I will get those tickets mailed to you ASAP.

A couple of the entries I got on email were good, btw.

1. I am going with any of the Jonas Brothers. I am a guy who grew up on Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Sound Garden, need i say more. But I will, the amount of annoying girls who would show up would drive me crazy.

The other is any guy who doesn’t tip their caddy. I have had the misfortune many times of getting zippy. Most recently at a Duramed Futures Tour event in Gettysburg. I Loop for a guy from Pittsburgh in which I tooted a bag read putts and did yardages and got zippo. Worse was he didn’t foot any of the bill, his company did, I think it was a gas company? You would think he could have spent a little extra on his looper!

2. Kim Jong-il and Mahmoud would quite possibly be the worst grouping. Talk about an explosive round.

From a local angle, Brendan Haywood/Etan Thomas pairing could get ugly too (even though the latter got traded)

hey WAIT a minute – you had Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Sound Garden….but you also had Hanson ! Mmmm-bop, baby. (lol)

Speaking of good music – I just found out that Steve Martin is going to be touring with a bluegrass band later this year. Personally, I want to go. He’s really talented on the banjo.

Congrats to Teg

great answers. Seeing what won my new answer would be Freddy Kruger and Jason Vorhees. Tough to focus on golf running for your life.

You're taking me right?

I can always count on my brother to have better answers than me. And to have the brass to put his address out on the internet.

Shady

Double Eagle calls his brother to join SB Nation to win tickets. If courtgolf is cool with that, I guess i will be too.

lol – it wasn’t a community vote – RB was the sole judge and jury for entries – he’s a benevolent demi-god. :-D

Hah! It’s all about bringing new members to the community! Of couse, I’ll get to hear about it forever how he won and I lost. :-D

On a serious note, I wouldn’t have told him about it if I felt like there would be some advantage for us. Since the entries were being judged by Ryan I knew it would be on the up and up.

Of course, he won a random drawing on my site too, and my own mother accused me of fixing it. I think he’s the Rain Man of golf blog contests or something. ;-D

oh great – next thing you’ll tell us is that he’s a very good driver ! :-)
