What You Do If You're Not In the US Open: Play Supermarket Sweep
On Monday, Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade will have their 11th CVS Charity Classic at Rhode Island Country Club. Neither are in the US Open, so I guess they have nothing better to do on the eve of their team event. Well, except go grocery shopping.
From a press release:
PGA Tour pros Brad Faxon and Brett Quigley might best be known for their smooth golf swings but on Thursday the pair traded their golf spikes for track shoes as they competed in the Stop & Shop/Deutsche Bank Championship Supermarket Sweeps. Faxon and Quigley raced against the clock to fill their shopping cart with the most groceries in two minutes and while the winner was determined by who had the highest grocery bill, the true winner of the day was the Stop & Shop - Giant Family Foundation.
Supermarket Sweep was one of my all time favorite game shows. It is so beautifully mindless. Answer questions about food and then the winner is determined by the team that gets the most money in groceries and bonuses in the sweep of the market.
With how slow PGA Tour players are, I'm shocked that they could have even competed with team three in any Sweep.
I guess the last time that Brad and Brett were shopping together at the supermarket and heard the beep - BEEP, BEEP - they thought of all the fun they could have on SUPERMARKET SWEEP!
