Ochoa Feeling Confident After Friday 69 at LPGA Championship
Lorena Ochoa currently sits five out of the lead of Anna Nordqvist at the LPGA Championship. She improved upon her first round of 72 by three shots.
Ochoa said that she gave herself a lot of birdie chances through the round, but a few putts that perhaps should have dropped didn't. Scoring conditions were "equal" compared to yesterday, Ochoa said. But, her performance on the course improved.
She echoed the same sentiment of fellow contender Lindsey Wright about the accessibility of scoring out on the course.
"If you are hitting all of the fairways, it is playing a little soft. If you get in the rough, you are dead."
Overall, though, the world number one appeared surprised that good scoring has continued so far today.
"When I looked at the scoreboard, it suprised me how low the scores are, because it is not easy out there." Despite that, Ochoa remained content with her round. "I'm happy. I am right where I want to be."

the scoring tells you that they aren’t playing 6,641 yards. Very little runout in the fairways.
