Ten Golf Terms That We Misuse
The USGA produced a list of the top ten golf terms that go misused by players on a regular basis. The article has a good explanation of what the terms actually mean, but this summary of the list may surprise you.

10. "Through the Green" - any area that isn't a hazard, green, or the tee ground. Not behind the green. |
Use your words right! Grammar, though, is optional.

“Through the green” includes the green – it’s any area not a hazard from the teeing ground through the green.
“Pin” – apparently it’s just “hole placement” – not pin placement.
Foursome as a group of 4 isn’t incorrect – it just also has the match play definition…and the porn definition. :-)
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
“by definition within the Rules of Golf, if an area of the golf course is not a hazard (i.e., a bunker or a water hazard), and is not the teeing ground or the putting green of the hole you are playing, it is “through the green.”"

that’s a weak article – he doesn’t really explain what his point is. throwing out Foursome like that is ridiculous.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
I think he was just done at the end. Had to get a 10th in there :) Although, in golf, a top 9 list seems apropos.

I'm not rubbing anyone's green
OK, maybe if we’re talking about Augusta. I would rub that green.
LET'S GO HAWKS!
