Vijay Skips Augusta's 16th Hole Pond for Incredible Ace
In yesterday's practice round, Vijay Singh came to the tee at the famous par 3 16th. It has had its fair share of famous holes in one in its time, but this one may take the cake. As Don Chavez found, and then Shane Bacon also posted, I'm going to also post video of Singh's incredible hole in one at 16. (This is kind of like that Paddy Harrington 800 meter par 3 video - it's going viral!)
It is tradition during the practice rounds to try to skip the ball across the pond guarding 16th green and keep in on the putting surface. Vijay does a whole lot better than that!

A friend of mine was there yesterday with his daughter. They got there just in time to see Ken Duke hole out his skip shot, too. That HAS to be fun !

Do you know how common holing out on the skip shot is? Or would you venture a guess?

no clue – in fact – these two are the first times I have ever heard of anyone doing it – not that it hasn’t been done – I just never heard the stories.

I feel like I have seen a similar video once, but not on youtube.

This is great but I am not sure it is AS GREAT
as some others think
I have hit 2 similar shots to this at local courses. I hit a ball thin and it skipped off the water and ran a ball right up to the cup

What a hoot!
I love it. I wonder how Eeyore & Roo missed it. ;o) I once got a bounce off a turtle that lead to a highly improbably par, but nothing like that.
