Cristie Kerr: Dressed to Lose?

I caught the final round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship yesterday on CBS.  I'll talk about the quality of coverage in a different post, but I - yes, as a man - noted that Cristie Kerr was wearing shorts.  She had been wearing skirts for quite some time.  Meanwhile, Lorena Ochoa is flashing more of the gams by wearing skirts.

What I didn't notice about Kerr, though, is that she may have subconsciously not expected to win yesterday.  Look at what Kerr was wearing on Sunday.

Now, you tell me: is a white shirt the best decision for a woman who - if victorious - would jump into a lake afterward?

Fellas, don't get me wrong.  I'm not saying that Cristie shouldn't have or wouldn't have done it.  But, I don't think the KNC is known as a wet golf shirt contest.

lorena's skirts

Around our house we noticed Lorena has changed her on-course look. We’re speculating her husband-to-be wants her to look more feminine at work. We also noticed her play has deteriorated. Coincidence?

sigh – yeah – it’s the mean MAN telling her what to do. couldn’t POSSIBLY be that she just wanted to change her look…or maybe her clothing company tossed the idea out to her…it HAS to be the fiance telling her what to do.

mismatch

If it was a clothing company the clothes would have coordinated (Creamer and Gulbis are great examples). Yesterday Lorena wore a cream skirt with a print top. It didn’t work. When she’s in shorts she is generally well dressed.

So, either she suddenly lost her sense of style, or someone is deciding what she wears. At the same time, her game is collapsing. We’re only speculating, not pointing a finger in accusation.

I can get in on this blind speculation. Do you want me to make a ridiculous post?

Haha, Miami last year? In all honesty, Cristie played pretty well for herself. Hound Dog thought she would win this week.

What happened in Miami ?

Yes Miami last year

I got to meet Erik Stevens, Cristie’s Mom and Dad also. Erik and I had a good chat about various LPGA news topics that were floating around.

On Thursday I chose to follow Christina Kim and Cristie. Christina’s pro-am partner was actor James Caan. On Sunday Cristie was in the next to last group, and I was the only non-photographer media member out with them.

sounds like fun...

…but I’m guessing you would definitely draw the line asking him about his wife and wet t-shirt contests. (lol)

judging from her putt on 18...

…I’m guessing her white shirt was the last thing on her mind. That was CLUTCH !!

Would we be having this conversation

If it was Jenny Rosales who finished one shot back? Jenny’s wardrobe does stand out even for a LPGA golfer.

Wardrobe malfunction

South Florida style. Two weather women wearing the same dress on the same day at different stations.

My wife used to have the same style dress. Too bad she discarded it long before it became a weather woman uniform down here or my wife could have found a new career.

all kidding aside

isn’t this pretty much what Kerr wears EVERY Sunday ? She is very patriotic and always wears red, white, and blue.

Some kind of patriotic attire usually comes out during the week.

Maybe Cristie just didn’t want Donna Andrews to be the only KNC winner with the wet-‘n’-white look?

Great catch there, Ryan. Wish I had spotted that!
