Is Brian Hewitt Gone from Golf Channel?
Admittedly, I don't catch tons of Golf Channel, but I do watch the golf on the channel and like their pre-game and post-game shows a lot. Brian Hewitt used to be a pretty prominent part of that programming. I didn't really have a personal opinion of the guy, but there seems to be some question as to whether or not he is still gainfully employed by the network.
Once again, the Internet may know the answer. Wikipedia has Brian listed as one of the former members of Golf Channel talent. So, since Wikipedia is all knowing and never wrong, Brian Hewitt must be out at Golf Channel. Don't know for sure, but for you folks coming to Waggle Room because you think I know the answer, that's how I got it.
(Interestingly enough, Casey Bierer is supposedly out also.)

Do you like this story?

they just keep you shaking your head...
…IF this is true – it just makes me wonder how many pictures of the big boss some of the other on air people have. There are half a dozen others I would get rid of before Hewitt. The hiring and firing practices of that place are baffling, to say the least.
and how the heck did Wiki get in the pipeline on this stuff ???
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Anyone (within reason) can post anything (again, within reason) on wikipedia. Could have been Hewitt himself who made the post. He might have even left voluntarily — someone could have offered him a job he couldn’t turn down.

Pretty much. There’s a lot of good information in a mostly readable form, but if you’re going to cite it you should probably try to find a second, independent source.
Never, ever use wikipedia for information about anyone or anything that’s currently controversial because those at each extreme will edit each others posts.

A website I write webfiction at
Crashed late last year. The website is still down and there has been lots of controversy about it. As a result, the WIkipedia page gets changed often. Currently it speaks in the past tense about the website.

Dang Bill – what did you write to cause a whole site to crash ? :-D
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Maybe it was the story
I wrote featuring
Groucho Marx
A Pregnant Circus Elephant
The Roadrunner and The Coyote
Swedish Chef giving cooking lessons to Martha Stewart
Barney the Purple Dinosaur
Maxwell Smart
A truckload of kangaroos
Cast members from Lost in Space, ER, Miss Saigon, F Troop
Yes I wrote a story that contained all that. It was a parody of the website and just some crazy ideas of my own thrown in there too.
Except I wrote that tale in 2002, six months 8 months before the site crashed. Maybe it was just a matter of time. Like the bad airplane repair that took seven years to fail.

Wikipedia has never been wrong
Then Hale Irwin birdied the 18th hole on Sunday at the 1974 US Open
Then Dave Stockton birdied the 18th hole in the final round of the 1976 PGA Championship
Then Bob Welch struck out Reggie Jackson with the bases loaded during the 1978 World Series
Then Juan Pizarro pitched a Major League no-hitter
Then David Graham parred the first two holes of the 1979 PGA Championship playoff
Then Eddie Pearce contended for the 1976 Masters
Then Crooked Stick never hosted the 1993 US Women’s Open
Then Ji Yai Shin won J Golf Phoenix International Presented by Mirassou Winery
Which is exactly why I said you need an independent source to confirm if you plan to cite them. If you find information you know to be incorrect I believe you’re welcome to make corrections. That’s the whole point of Wikipedia.
By the way, US Women’s Open shows Lauri Merton won in ’93 at Crooked Stick. She shot 4-under.

Bingo. The idea is to make corrections as you notice problems with it – if you’re so inclined.
