LPGA to Torrey Pines in September
Hound Dog tells of the good news that the LPGA Tour's Samsung World Championship found a home away from Half Moon Bay (which was great, BTW). It's Torrey Pines South! That's a big pull for the LPGA Tour, thanks to tournament owner IMG.
HD wonders if Oakmont could be next for the LPGA Tour. Good news, my friend, the ladies get the US Women's Open there next year!

good luck
there will be all kinds of comparisons in the course from how the PGA Tour plays it and the LPGA setup – and it won’t be pretty. A well played tournament will help that problem.
wonder what the weather will be like in September…oh yeah…it’s San Diego – sunny and 70. :-)

???
who would waste their time making meaningless comparisons between setups of several hundred yards difference….oh, right.
How did I miss Oakmont’s selection for next year’s Open? I must be slipping. Hopefully I’ll be paying more attention the day Billy Payne makes his big announcement.

I’m assuming Samsung will want to re-up, given Shin and all.

I would think so, too. Hadn’t had a chance to read SBJ this week yet, but that’s good to know!

why wouldn't you ?
if you have a chance to play a tournament at a course like Torrey Pines – why not ? It’s beautiful and a solid course. The locals will get to see it played like they play it – without the heavy rough, grown in fairways, and faster than normal green speeds.
