The 19th Hole Golf Show - 3/31/09

On this week's episode:

Ryan kicks off the program by talking about Tiger's comeback victory at the Palmer and how Sean O'Hair really cost himself the event.  Then, we're joined by Fanhouse Golf editor Shane Bacon to talk about his caddying experience at the LPGA Tour's event last weekend with Erica Blasberg.  Finally, we're joined by Play Golf Designs founder Nisha Sadekar to talk about her business and what the LPGA Tour can learn from what she does.

To listen to our show, check out the GNN Media Player or the media player below.

Also, you can subscribe to our new GNN Newsmakers podcast on iTunes that features only the interviews I conduct for both of our shows!

And, a programming note, check out Inside the LPGA with Karen Palecios-Jansen and Hound Dog Ken Hartis.  They were kind enough to have me on to preview the LPGA Tour's first major with them.

Haha, Nisha was awesome. We actually talked on the phone a good while before even recording the interview.

Nisha is SMART and HOT

I played in a tournament in Napa Valley last year and she was with some of the ladies in her entourage and she is smoking hot and doesnt give herself enough credit. she has really helped womens golf and she is a smart young lady. good to see her business alive and well.

I think there’s serious value behind what PGD does. It’s a different spin on golf hospitality. As I said on the show, I think that the LPGA Tour does hospitality better than the PGA Tour, but could improve. PGD probably pushes the envelope too much for the comfort level of the folks down at Daytona. Their approach is more to mirror the PGA Tour style than to take a chance on something less conventional in the sport.

I think PGD is helping the game by exposing people to these women who are interesting, beautiful, and great golfers. Making a connection with a hundred people at an event might make some new LPGA Tour/women’s golf fans, or at least pique their curiosity.

PDG isn’t doing tournaments – they are corporate and small party hospitality with a little extra umph in that the hostesses are pretty darn good golfers.

The LPGA/PGA pro-ams are social, but they are more of an opportunity to play 18 with a pro on a tournament ready course and see how he/she does things to get ready instead of a corporate outing setting.

i didnt know about this site and a buddy of mine sent me a link to this interview because we both had met Nisha. From what i can tell she has helped get alot of young futures and lpga players some recognition and make money to go out and play. she makes it fun for the pros and the people in the event. the tournament in Napa would have been so so if they werent there. its refreshing to see women that are really good and excited about what they do, my buddy still keeps in touch with nisha and he always says how she is a woman with a golf mission and she is super HOT. i am a big golf fan period and it is nice to meet pros on any level. sorry for the delayed response i forgot my password. this is a great site. still trying to make my way around. adios.
