Tiger's Win Highest Rated Since US Open
From the AP: NBC Sports says the final round drew a 4.9 overnight rating with a 10 share. According to Nielsen Media Research, that's the highest rating of any golf tournament since the U.S. Open in June. Woods won that tournament in a playoff.
The Bay Hill rating was up 23% from last year and attracted more viewers than the British Open and PGA Championship last year when Woods did not play because of knee surgery.

There has got to be a better way to say it...
…Tiger didn’t actually make up a 5 shot deficit. He made up 3 shots and O’Hair donated the other 3. What was really amazing was that Tiger actually had the lead, then gave it back on the next hole – something he just doesn’t do.

Come on
CG,
Next thing you’ll be telling me is Paul Lawrie didn’t make up 10 shots at the 1999 British Open. Van de Welde gave up 7 and the Scot closed three.

Shocking, isn't it...
…I know what the numbers are at the start of the day – but Tiger didn’t shoot 64 on Sunday, he shot 67 (-3)…and Lawrie didn’t shoot 61 in 1999 to get into the playoff, he also shot 67 (-4)….yada yada yada…
It just sounds wrong (to me) when we say that someone “made up 5 shots”, or worse, “made up 10 shots” when they didn’t. Semantics, I know – I was just tossing it out for brains bigger than mine to knock around. Then again, the media is more concerned with the biggest hype – not the truth – so it’s a silly question.

Funny, that.
Sunday Tour ratings highest they’ve been since the US Open – the last time Tiger was in contention on a Sunday in any tournament.
So, when it comes to television ratings, which is to say advertising, which is to say money…
Yes, it really is all about Tiger.

Much to Mr. Uldal’s chagrin.
Truth has a well-known liberal bias.

You know...
…I almost dove into that imbroglio, and decided against it. CG seemed to have it under control. ;)
