Let's Hear it for Karrie Webb
On Sunday, Karrie Webb notched her first LPGA Tour win since her five-win 2006 season. It was great to see her pull out a victory in the J Golf Pheonix event. As the One Eyed Golfer points out, Karrie rarely seems to get the kind of respect that Annika does, or even cohort Se Ri Pak does. Pak probably gets it for kicking off the Asian Invasion that, interestingly enough, is often cursed under the breath in LPGA Tour circles.
Webb started the day one out of the lead of Ji Yai Shin, but managed a two shot victory to win for the 36th time on the LPGA Tour with a final round of -5 against Shin's -2 round.

From Fox Sports Australia's game story, Webb talks about how much this win meant to her:
"I've won in Australia in the last two years, but winning on the LPGA against the best players in the world is obviously very important to me," Webb said.
"You know you still have the ability to do it, but you're putting the scores on the board that indicate you can't still do it."
Does this make Webb a favorite at the Kraft Nabisco Championship? I'll discuss that with Karen Palacios-Jansen and "Hound Dog" Ken Hartis on Inside the LPGA tomorrow night on Prime Sports Network.

Terrific win
I really enjoyed watching Webb win again. She’s always been a favorite. Val Skinner sounded like she was choking up a litte during the interview.
Looks like they’ve done a lot of work on Papago Park since I lived out there. Great track. I was a bit sceptical when I saw that they were playing 6,700 yards, then I remembered how hard the fairways are and how much run out you get off the tees – it was more likely.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
