Cybergolf's Dave Andrews (recent guest on LPGA on GNN) wrote a piece for the Armchair Golf Blog about the DFT, its importance, realities, lack of coverage, and its growing talent base. Worth a read because it reveals how tough it can be for these ladies to make the LPGA Tour.

Is there a chance the power of Waggle Room could be harnessed to barrage GC with enough abuse they’d have to do regular features on the Futures Tour?

Well, speaking of the DFT, they are having a player named Carling Coffing do a video blog of her season.

Caddied in her group

She’s pretty sharp…AND…named after Carling Bassett…daughter of the Carling Beer family in Canada. (bet you didn’t know that – she was shocked that I asked about it) I was caddying for her group on Sunday of the DFT Invitational at the end of the season. She had her own caddy, but was very friendly to the lowly cart-caddy for the other two ladies.

local girl

Carling is from just up the road from me, Middletown, Ohio. Maybe the Futures Tour just needs someone with the media savvy to grab attention. Coffing may be the one.

i have no idea

but the video isn’t too bad and if GC is going to put it on the Web site or, better yet, on television, she might attract some attention to the tour. She had a T58 this week, not terrible.

btw, the driver is starting to work out. shot 87 today.

Dave Andrews and DFT

Thanks, Ryan, for mentioning Dave’s very thorough and heartfelt piece.
