Golf World and the LPGA- update
We're only eight days away from the LPGA opener for 2009 and I have a good question.
Where is a Golf World preview for the upcoming season?
Play begins in Hawaii on February 12th, about the same time as next week's issue of Golf World hits subscriber mail boxes. I checked my blog archives, and LPGA previews have come out the last two years the week before the first event of the year. That would be this week.
Golf World sends out a weekly email previewing the next issue. No mention was made of an LPGA preview in it. Nothing is up at the website either.
Would Golf World really neglect Ladies professional golf by not giving it a preview?
Update- I suddenly remembered I had GW editor Geoff Russell's email address, so I popped him a note. He said the LPGA preview will be in next week's issue.
The SBS tournament runs Feb 12-14th, there will some GW subscribers who won't get the issue before the tournament is completed. Wouldn't it make more sense to do the preview this week? Like Golf World has in the past. An architecture issue can be done any week.

That's a good question
I can try to find out for you from the folks at Golf World.

come on Bill...
…all resources have been assigned to figure out when Tiger will be returning. :-)
I’d be interested in knowing why they haven’t started LPGA coverage, too.

Are you telling me
They’re holding a seance up in CT? Earl Woods probably has the answer.

Wrote my note
I’ll see if I get anything back from GWorld. Hopefully we will.
If not, I’ll do it myself :) LPGA on GNN comes back next week anyhow.

let's hope Sirak does his top 30
And let’s hope he tries harder than last year. Does he want to come in dead last again?

It will have to be seen
If Annika Sorenstam is in his top 30 in spite of her stepping away from the sport. In his 2008 LPGA preview, Sirak wrote this gem-
Beth Daniel is not playing anymore, but is still one of the 10 best Americans.
Ron didn’t even bother counting his top 30, where he had 13 Americans not one of which was Daniel, listed.
Also Daniel hadn’t won more than $253,000 since 2005 and finished 137th on the money list in 2007. To think she is still one of the US top 10 players is idiotic to say the least.
