Accenture Match Play: Final Four Predictions
Woods vs. Stricker and Kaymer vs. Perry were my final four match ups based upon the breakdown of each fourth of the bracket.
In the end, it seems like this should be a showdown of youth. I like Woods and Kaymer in the final. Why? Because I'm crazy enough to pick a rusty player and a guy who has never won in the United States to battle it out in a format as unpredictable as match play. Also, that way, my ridiculous guess won't be made fun of when I'm not even close.
I have heard from others about predictions of Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson, Geoff Ogilvy, and others winning. They're all totally valid guesses. And, in match play, that's what this is.
So, instead of making a post trying to predict a winner, I want to hear who you like and why. It'll be a lot more interesting.
Also, here are what some other bloggers/writers are thinking:

awwwww...
…hedging your bets, eh ? :-)
Let’s see – I have Ogilvy vs Stricker on one side and Garcia vs Stenson on the other. (I have to admit that a tiny bit of picking Ogilvy over Woods and Strick over Mick is to spite NBC and Johnny Miller) :-D
I would like to see Ogilvy and Garcia go head to head in the final, with Ogilvy coming out on top. BUT, of course, that depends on the Tilghman Factor – has Ogilvy decided that he wants to win ?

NNNNOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!
I lost the entire right side of my final four on day one. I can understand losing to DLIII – but Garcia losing to CHARLES SCHWARTZEL ????? Sergio – you’re dead to me….but just you…not the chick by the pool in the commercial… :-)

My New and Improved...
Wow – talk about some unexpected results!! I’ve decided to revise my picks – I need to have some hope and interest over the weekend – I think I lost just about 1 whole bracket yesterday – sheesh. No Allenby or Appleby – that hurt. But saying it out loud made me smile.
Woods – Mahan (risky) – Ogilvy – Villegas
Woods – Ogilvy
Woods (I’m standing by my original pick!)
Donald – Stricker – Mickelson – Cink
Stricker – Cink
Stricker (man, I hope he hangs in there!!)
Poulter – Weekley – Ames – Casey
Weekley – Ames
Weekley (maybe my worst bracket, but I’m ticked at Perry and Sergio)
Fisher – Furyk – Love – Kim
Furyk – Love (this would be a great match!)
Love (My whole top half of this bracket was wrong – but I’m hanging onto DL III! – but I wouldn’t be upset if Leonard made it to the finals instead)
Finals -
(I SO want to pick Stricker – but I took Woods to win it all and I’m sticking to it)
Woods – Love
Winner – Woods
I know it’s cheating to start over, but now I’m pumped to root for my “new” roster!

It’s not “cheating” to learn from your experiences and revise your options, right?

not at all
those are “do over” picks – match ups change, so outcomes look different.

I hope...
that because you picked Mickelson that he won’t win! I think I remember you saying that about your picks in the Fantasy threads.
I wouldn’t feel bad if Els advances either…

whoda thunk?
It seems Camilo Villegas is a match play super star. He took down Rod Pampling 7 and 6 yesterday, and as of now (2:30 pm Eastern), he’s 4 up through 8 on Miguel Angel Jimenez, who last time I checked, has a pretty good match play record.

The Mechanic is a solid match play guy. I’m thinking that 7&6 win yesterday made Camilo a fan of match play really quickly!
