Match Play Championship: Player Bracket Breakdown
Sergio Garcia heads the Player bracket and opens his tournament against Carl Schwartzel. Schwartzel can play, for sure. There's an upset potential there.
Somehow, Justin Rose faces Boo Weekley in a hilarious first round matchup. Equally funny is that Rose is still ranked higher in the world than Weekley. The same can be said of Adam Scott and his opponent Sean O'Hair. They're both about the same now, right?
There is a lot of talk around Alviro Quiros' sideburns in his match with Canadian-Trinidad & Tobagian Stephen Ames.
In other words, this bracket is filled with a lot of players with modest success. That means this bracket can be a total free for all. And that means that this is just screaming for a Kenny Perry methodical walk through the bracket.
Round 1: Garcia, Poulter, Weekley, O'Hair, Karlsson, Quiros, Perry, Baddeley
Round 2: Poulter, Weekley, Karlsson, Perry
Round 3: Poulter, Perry
Winner: Perry

"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Karlsson deserves some love, too. He could get hot and pull a Stenson.

we both...
…picked him to win the first two matches – that’s enough for him. (lol)
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
PHEW...
This bracket is looking better for me – I think my line-up is almost exactly the same as CG, execpt I have Perry winning – again, going with my heart (golf wise) – I dig Sergio, but love Kenny Perry’s game.
I want to see Boo win a few matches!
What the heck...
Perry loses in round 1?
So much for my good bracket.
that one hurt
I had Perry losing in the Quarters -
and Schwartzel is 3 up on my eventual winner – Garcia
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
15 beats 2
Geez – that’s what I get for betting on an NC State grad. lol
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Haha
When I look back at this at the end of the day, I think there will be more underdog wins than favorites.
