Woods Loses the Congressional Gold Medal

Prior to the "great transgressions" admission, Woods hardly would qualify for this. The congressman is anxious to find himself befriended by Woods. Pandering to celebrities is disgusting - even more disgusting is a congressman pandering to a celebrity who is known to be very wealthy hoping for a large contribution or an endorsement. These Washington types really do know no shame.

He never really had it – the congressman just wanted to nominate Woods – but BOY do you make some good points about our “elected officials”

On a side note, I wish Congress would stop giving out gold medals to civilians over stuff that has little bearing on anything. Those things aren’t cheap. My tax dollars are better spent on something useful. Like letting the money remain in our own pockets in the first place.

Money

Who said money is the root of all evil ? As I get older and it becomes less important, ( only because I have some) it’s amazing to sit back and watch how we comprimise ourselves so much for it. Overtime this weekend, grrr

Actually – that’s a commonly misquoted Bible verse. 1 Timothy 6:10 "The love of money is the (or sometimes “a”) root of all KINDS of evil."

The Masters

I wonder if the Green Jackets down at Augusta are thinking about revoking Woods automatic invite to participate ? Wouldn’t that show some balls ! Naaaaw,…even those stuffed shirts wouldn’t attempt that,…..would they ? I’ll ask Gary McCord about it ! LMAO

Good point

You have a point 3 irons, maybe it depends how much money they want to make from TV rights…I bet Gary would have a chuckle at that.

Nah – Tiger isn’t the first married member or player to have fidelity problems – and money isn’t the main concern for the people who run The Masters.

I hear you, but didn’t they sell rights to coverage in the far east ? Money must be the main reason for that.

by Easingwold on Dec 10, 2009 11:59 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

oh – I didn’t say they didn’t like making money – but they have proven in the past that the TOURNAMENT is their primary concern. They don’t have to have the TV or commercial money to have The Masters.

Green jacket

Always funny to see thier nose out of place…I remember Seve and Faldo getting told off for taking the Green jacket away from the club…appearences on TV etc…but they did it anyway.

Gary Player was the first one to do that – he was nice and offered to let them have it back right away…all they had to do was come to South Africa to pick it up. :-)

KIng Ping's Armchair Psychology Session

Now that Jamie Grubbs is dishing her texts from Tiger, I can see he’s no ordinary philanderer. I never thought I’d say this, but Eliot Spitzer had it right… If you want some action with some one olther than your wife, the best way to do it is BUY it. If these texts are true and they seem to be, Tiger was looking for much more than sex… It sounds to me like he was unhappy at home…very unhappy… And what with huge amounts of money and his image at stake he made some very poor choices… Of course like all those herbal products, “These statements have not been evaluated ……..” And, "For entertainment purposes only….

3irons...

It is good to see you back around. What you suggest would show some real class on their part, but would be a hard sell. I’d love to hear McCord’s take on it… he is a very entertaining guy!

Suggest ?

No, no,….I think he should be allowed to play, but Augusta has been known to march to their own drummer from time to time. We’ll see soon enough I suppose………………………Z.
