Euro Tour 2010: Still Featuring the Race to Dubai
A few weeks ago, we contacted the European Tour for comment on the news that Dubai was in danger of entering sovereign default. The news sent global markets into a tizzy about the potential road block this would place on growth in developing countries not named India and China. The Euro Tour had no comment except to say that they would release the schedule soon.
Three days before their 2010 season begins, they did. The Race to Dubai is still the overarching theme for the schedule and the Dubai World Championship will still close the season. Both will remain steady with purses of $7.5 million each.
The Dubai Desert Classic now has a title sponsor - Omega - in a move that is not a surprise.
South Africa dominates the first four weeks of the schedule, including the new Africa Open. There's a new event after the first Desert Swing in New Delhi. There are four other new events on the schedule, including incorporating the King Hassan II trophy event on the schedule for the first time.
Overall, the Tour has 47 events penciled in for 2010, as well as two TBD slots.
In typical Euro Tour fashion, final money counts have not been announced for any event on today's release. Fans and players will find that out as they go.

I think he has. We ran a story here about it from golf.com, but I think that he was paid and his words were not interpreted correctly.

Aren’t the women playing in Dubai soon? Will this economic situation effect them?
The Ladies Euro Tour is there this weekend. That’s not as big of a deal because the purse is pretty low, but it could be impacted.
