Chris Cooley Offers Tiger Woods A Place to Lay Low For A While
Washington Redskins all-pro tight end and penis photographer Chris Cooley took time in his video blog for Comcast SportsNet Washington to offer a room to Tiger at his NoVA home. You know, to lay low for a while.

To you Progolf/jumpnjive
Yes siree, this is one classy site, full of unbiased reporting and insightful comments. And no deleting, the true barometer of a really good blog. I took the opportunity to look at some archived “ariticles”, all by Ryan….. Remember how Macer used to say the number of comments reflect interest? It would seem for the most part, comments come alive when Tiger Woods is the subject. And like every blogger on the face of the Earth Ryan and his ilk will ride this puppy for all it’s worth. Maybe he’ll protest a bit, like that “I can’t believe I said that” line. There’s is one very postive aspect to waggle.com, I paid nothing to join. And you know the old saying, “You get what you pay for.” Sorry to sound so cynical, but many seem to see it as a postive thing to “call it like you see it”…. But maybe that’s only if you see it like Ryan and his fans.
Crybaby
Ping…..You’re correct about some things not changing…….You still whine and cry like a little baby. Maybe you should start your own site, then you could control the content to you’re liking. Otherwise I would suggest you get down on the floor and look under the couch…..I’m sure your pacifier is somewhere under there. Go back TGC with macer, but I’m real sure you won’t be happy there either…..whaaaaaaa.
To quote niblic or Niblick1111
“You can’t handle the truth”…..and you know where HE got it…. I’m glad you enjoy waggle.com, I really am. It’s just that I feel old jumper portrayed it as some thing different from TGC… I don’t see it…. This is little more than a colleection of responses to what Ryan writes. He’s VERY prolific and I can’t fault that. I saw on day one that he was not a Tiger Woods fan, and that goes a long way with many who comment here. I’m well past that “fan” thing. It irks me to see Tiger Woods dominate the world of golf, there are alot of other interesting pros out there. But the business of golf doesn’t survive on “interesting stories” and that the way it is! Belittling some one you don’t agree with is easy…and fun…I’ve stooped to it myself… I remember jumpnjive saying that this was a “civil” site. It may be relatively obscenity free but civility is another matter…. I see your comment to Ryan below. Ryan is no different than any other perosn: Trying to make a living doing something he enjoys. I’m sure he’s perceptive enough to understand blogging…
What the heck else
is there right now? Come on, man…..nothing happening but the Tiger story and a Tigerless Chevron, which Ryan updates everyday. Ryan is doing a great job trying to post things that might be of interest. Listen, there are 5000 new posters on TGC, half hate Tiger and half love tiger, so no matter what you want…..the overwhelming majority will be posting on the Tiger issue. When it blows over, something else will take it’s place. This is supposed to be fun…..I’m really sorry you can’t enjoy it…….:(
Ryan
Don’t worry about old Ping. He never takes a position on any subject, but instead always chooses to be critical of the writer or the commentators. We are used to the whining. Just a heads up………go figure.
Who is Ryan? I always
thought courtgolf ran this site.
There are no great golf blogs nor terrible golf blogs – just golf blogs you like or do not like. If you like it, please comment. If you do not, please leave. You do not have to tell us five times you are leaving and why and why and why. And, why we should leave also. Just leave and find a site you like.

Thanks for setting me straight!
Let me see if I understand this correctly. Because there’s nothing else, which isn’t entirely true, Ryan must continue to belch out these extraneous TW nuggets… Parking game, Cooley video? And it’s part of blogging for you to call me a crybaby…I go over there to TGC and see you pretty much call anybody whose comment you don’t agree with something pejorative. And somehow because a don’t “take a position” my comments are not relevant. “Always chooses to be critical”….. You haven’t been paying attention, or maybe you have a short attention span… Now I’ll give you this, I may have been critical of the same drivel you barf out again and again…. Hey, this really is fun!!!! em66: better send along another heads up to Ryan, he’s already late on Mindy Lawton….
Blogging and Tiger
When Ryan started the blog on equipment, I was relieved. Because there was something else besides Tiger. But, after 10 comments or so, it died and the subject of Tiger came up once again. It’s just the era we are all in, i think, that sensationalism rules in the world now. Yes, I’m cynical, lol.
Pingforever
I promise I am not being sarky but have your tried the World/Travel Golf site? I enjoyed it for years as it was an excellent mixture of reviews of courses in US/across the world,
equipment, blogs on rules, slow play, etc, mixed in with some controversy/fun – as each blogger has his/her own very individual voice. I have recently lost some interest in it due to the lack of post interaction/comment, but worth a look, especially the old stuff.
Ryan, et al – well, you did say the more the merrier – assume that applies to blogs, as well as posters?
Dried up
I have to say, where is all the posters ? And as Wendy says, the blogs ? OK, I appreciate the time of year, I’ve had to go out shopping myself…I’ll have a look Wendy, cheers
PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNG !!!!!
Well Ping. Sorry you don’t care for it here. Personaly I love it. This time of year there isn’t much to talk about. All YEAR long all we listen to and hear about on the Golf Channel is TW and all the records and all the good stuff after 14 years on tour. He deserved most of it for sure just a little to much sensationalizing for me. Now it’s time to pay the PIPER. Remember that commercial about tiger and his return narrated by Jame Earl Jones and how it was obviously produced well before the TW return announcememt. The golf channel obviously had it in que as it played just minutes after TW announced his return. The sensationalizm was just stupid. They made it sound like the return of the king of the heavans. One thing for sure PING,, waggleroom is without a TW & MW agenga unlike TGC. TGC also continues to belittle most every other player that isn’t padding their collective pockets. Personaly I think your a good guy PING, but if you choose to leave thats just the way it goes sometimes. Maybe you will see things differently when the season returns next year. Congrats to Allenby winning over in Africa and to Adam Scott winning over in OZ….jumpn/progolf
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Tiger
I hear what you say, Jumpin, but all I see here is Tiger. Like you, I don’t think Tiger is golf…so why are we not talking about Adam Scott down under ? Westwood in Thousand Oaks ? Obviously, what has gone down in the last week is big news, but it’s not all the news . As soo as there was an equipment blog, it got 10 comments and died. I think we all fall into the Tiger debate weather we like it or not. All Ping might be saying, is lets have a bit of variety.
Once again to you jumper:
Thanks for your comment. After reading it, my thought was “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” As I said to em66, I’m glad you like it here, and the chances of changing your perception are virtually non-existent. But please consider what the home page on waggle.com is offering today… First, a video by Chris Cooley, as described by Ryan, “a penis phoptographer”. That’s followed by “Why I published an Interview that might be a lie”. Followed by, Neighbor: Asleep and shoeless". #4, Play the TW parking game…I can’t believe I said that" And coming in last a two day old comment on the Chevron World Challenge… And yet you would say, TGC over hypes TW. Stupid sensationalism??? How exactly would you describe waggle’s three lead “articles”? Sure Allenby in Africa or Scott in Australia can’t compete with Chris Cooley’s inane video. Maybe we’re all a bit shaky. After what, 10 or 12 years of American dominance in the form of Tiger Woods we’re not very comfortable passing that baton to Lee Westwood or Rory McEllroy…. Maybe we’re a bit spoiled to find our hero has feet of clay at least in the personal realm. I’d do a much better job of expressing myself in person over a drink or two. The written word often fails to convey a lot. What has been described as critical is nothing but a plea for balance… WendyUK: For some strange reason you Brits seems to see the golf world in a much broader perspective…
Ping, I think you just arrived at a poor time to see the variety and subjects you’re looking for.
WaggleRoom isn’t the Wall Street Journal. It’s a place for fans to read news, debate the topics of the day, etc.
Ryan does do actual journalistic reporting as well as sensational/fun/funny/nonsense posts (sometimes only marginally involving golf) and everything in between. He does some equipment reviews he does talk about the various tours, etc.
It would be silly to pretend the Tiger Woods story isn’t huge, even though a lot of us wish it would just die. But it’s still showing up on mainstream TV, newspapers, and the like. When Carolyn Bivens made her comments about Asian players and then when she was on her way out, WaggleRoom was dominated by LPGA talk.
I respect your frustration, but I think Ryan has done well carrying on the fan-centric mission of WaggleRoom. I’ve been here since before he came and I think WaggleRoom is one of the best places for fans that’s out there. It’s the only golf blog I regularly participate on, besides my own, though do I read a lot of them. Sometimes, the topics aren’t that interesting to me (like the LPGA for instance), so I just scroll on and something I’m interested in comes along shortly. That’s what happens with so much variety of reporting versus fun stuff.
As I said, you came at a bad time because Tiger talk has been dominating the web, plus this isn’t a great time of year for pro golf anyway. I’m confident that if you hang around, you’ll see the kinds of things you want to see when the Tiger stuff dies down.
You’ll just have to accept there’s going to be other stuff in between. If that’s not acceptable, then there’s certainly got to be a place on the web where you might find a higher percentage of stuff you can identify with. Blogs can’t possibly suit everyone and maybe WaggleRoom just isn’t a match for you.
Ping again...
Again,, not a lot of golf going on at the moment, hence all the TW chatter. As wendy said try..www.worldgolf.com or one of the MANY other non=TW related links listed on the left hand side of the waggeroom home page. TGC home page has MANY 80% of the articles on its site all TW this past week. Honestly, that is and was the norm for them prior to all this turbulance, it’s called marketing and hype and $$$$. Ping at least in here you have the option of writting an article YOURSELF and I would read it and comment on it as well. Your not going to find that at Golf Channel.com. no way no how. Personaly with the acception of yourself and a few other posters @ TGC site, most of them are a bunch of 3rd graders with nothing else to do. The writers on TGC are all on-the-take and all on the payroll and are edited and re-scripted without a choice, hence all the groveling and drooling about MW and TW. I hope you stay and continue to post here but if you do not, well heck, sorry to see you go. Maybe once the season starts and we can have real GOLF discussion, about anyone “NOT NAMED TIGER WOODS” you will see things differently in here. You wont find that @ TGC as thats all they ever write about over there. It’s all quite transparent and all to obvious…….jumpn Happy Holidays and lets have a drink sometime :o)
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Ok I'll take part of the blame :o)
Ok I pulled a Jesper Parnevik and introduced ping to waggleroom. It somewhat my fault. Just don’t take out the the rear window of my Lincoln Town Car with your Ping 60 degree wedge. Cause I don’t want to have to come in here publicy and do a Jimmy Swaggert type of apology or be forced on the couch on Letterman….jumpn/progolf
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Progolf & Double Eagle
Thank you for taking the time to write and explain the blog a bit…. That idiot video of Cooley was sort of the last straw. I’m glad to hear there will be better times ahead. I would think Ryan would know his audience better, that we don’t crave the usual run-of-the-mill pap. I might have chosen a different head line for an article about the Chevron World Challenge this morning…. Something at least mentioning Furyk…… Jump, with your acquaintanceship with Jim, I’m almost sure you’d agree… It’s Pearl Harbor Day today sailors, let’s not forget that. One more thing: I took that 60 degree wedge out of my bag a while back, left to many 50 yard shots 10 yards short……
This one is pretty simple for me. At Waggle Room, I cover the stuff that I think is interesting. It’s really that simple. Fortunately, that connects with my audience a lot of the time. Some people hate when I do LPGA stuff. Some people don’t like the golf business stuff that I do. And that’s completely ok. What I’m trying to do here is offer a wide variety of things that interest me.
Generally, I don’t do game stories. I don’t care for them and I think they’re a dying story type. The closest thing I do is find different angles into what happened on course. What a great week for Graeme McDowell. That’s a story to me. So is Furyk winning, but I’ll get around to him and Adam Scott winning down under.
The stories that I do here are a variety of different types of things. Like Double Eagle put very well, I do a mix of journalism, podcasts, columns. I do goofy and silly stuff. I’m critical and I offer praise. And I do it in pretty much any order that I decide to do it. In no way am I a news site, nor do I ever really plan to act like one (all of the time). I have no interest in that.
It’s great that this site has FanPosts and FanShots so that you guys can write things that are interesting to you. It keeps the conversation going on a slew of different topics, even if I kinda digress or stay on a certain topic. The posters that come here for LPGA chat will do that from time to time. If the writing/topic/conversation that happens on those posts is good/interesting, then I’ll bump it to the front page.
That’s what I put out there and that’s what has worked really well for this site. It’s a great mix of stuff that I write and find, and what you all find and write.
It’s ok if you don’t like the posts, but that’s how I operate. And there are a bunch of other blogs that I read each day just to see what’s going on out there. I highly encourage you to do the same.

yeah yeah yeah – and some of us are REALLY just here for the bikini pictures. :-)
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
but seriously, folks…RB writes about what interests him – he isn’t a mind reader and he certainly doesn’t pretend he has a monopoly on things to write about.
THAT’S why we have our lovely Fanposts and Fanshots on the right side of the page. When we want to post something – we can use those outlets.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Ping et al
It’s a bad time to visit any golf site if you want to avoid TW stories, even www.WorldGolf.com. Not so long ago even that was SATURATED with Michelle Wie debate.
Also try OEG & NiceBallz – sometimes serious .. sometimes …
Unfortunately, I don’t seem to have registered too much on the LPGA on this site. Natalie Gulbis/Paula Creamer/Christina Kim photos do not count, CG:)
Ryan – look forward to any blogs on Jim Furyk (dry sense of humour, nifty little dancer on 18th green), Graeme McDowell, Lee Westwood (that last round of his was … what’s that over-used expression I loathe – oh yes “awesome”), Robert Allenby & Adam Scott – even if interspersed with gentle American snarkiness (Ryder Cup, Anthony Kim, etc, etc).
Bit more on Q school, pls. & let’s start kicking off on Ryder Cup – NEVER too soon.
