Suzy Whaley Elected District 1 Director of PGA of America
First of all - congratulations to Suzy for the election since it comes from her PGA Professional peers in the northeast.
I just can't get the idea out of my head that she won the post less for her qualifications and experience as a PGA Professional and more for her PR.
Everything surrounding Whaley always starts with her bogus, yet by the rules, appearance in a PGA Tour event. That appearance led to her position on Golf Channel doing really bad announcing mostly for LPGA events.
Hope she does a good job.

She cut David Duval by 8 shots in the first round of the ’03 Greater Hartford Open (playing from the same tees). Duval then withdrew, citing a bruised ego.
yes – the David Duval who’s game mysteriously disappeared and couldn’t find the fairway with gps and laser guided golf balls. fact is – she wouldn’t have been in that tournament were it not for a loophole in the rules that let her play two sets of tees up from where the men were playing.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
