Today's Tiger Woods Life is Ruined Rumor/Report Roundup

Rather than do incessant posting on every minute detail and rumor that comes out from anonymous sources, I figured I would just lump them into one big link dump that you can check out on your own time.

Tiger may have found himself a new sponsor: In addition to Nike, Gillette, et al standing up in support of Tiger during this time, cheating promotion website AshleyMadison.com is offering Woods $5 million to be a spokesperson for them. [Busted Coverage via TMZ]

Jesper Parnevik is none too pleased: The man who Elin Nordegren was working for as a nanny before being setup with El Tigre by her boss regrets it.  "I would be especially sad about it since I'm kind of -- I feel really sorry for Elin -- since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him," Parnevik said. "We probably thought he was a better guy than he is." [SB Nation]

You should've bet against Tiger for once: BetUS published odds over the weekend that were really favorable for you to lay your mortgage on Tiger admitting an affair.  But you didn't, did you? [BetUS]

So, Rachel Uchitel probably lied to me: Jaimee Grubbs stole the spotlight and Uchitel wants it back.  Rumor is that she will admit to the affair she previously denied to me first (then a bunch of other outlets) at a press conference at 1:30pm ET.  Wow, am I surprised. [TMZ]

And we have a lady to complete the foursome: Jaimee, Rachel: meet Kalika Moquin - a Las Vegas nightclub hostess at a joint that Tiger just loves.  She slept with Tiger, too.  [Life & Style]

Elin could become highest earner every on the PGA Tour: CBS reports that Elin stands to earn $300 million if she divorces Tiger Woods.  [Waggle Room via CBS]

Oncer again I’m stuck words. Elin stands to EARN $300 million? That’s a pretty good WAGE for six years of marriage.

Ping

I would say she “earned” it. Having to live with an arrogant, egotistical schmuck is probably worth more than $300m……lol…… I wonder if he ever changed a diaper??

Except They Havea Prenunp

Which I believe is being renegotiated right now. I heard something or other in the din of all things Tiger today.

Kalika ewwwwww

She’s not even attractive and has fake boobs to boot. Not my type for sure. As 3irons said in another post, “Tigers don’t change their stripes” so I think Tiger should change his name to “Cheetah Woods”. jes sayin..jumpn/progolf

Is everyone still assailing the Enquirer?

I suspect they will be proven correct around 11:35 am Pacific Time.

It’s not that they are right once in a while – it’s all the other garbage they make millions dredging up.

Gossip is still gossip whether it’s correct information or not.

On course behavior

All this sorry mess Tiger has gotten himself into may show why he was throwing clubs during a tournament. He obviously didn’t want this to happen but knowing it might took it’s toll on his"normally in control of everything world". The media monster that helped him get rich is now eating him up. Tough times ahead for him. It can’t be good in the public eye, but thats the price of fame.

Pro Golfers

Just watched some of the comments from tour players. Jesper Parnevik is the man. He said what he felt and didn’t hold back. Rocco was angry with everyone in the world and thought we should all leave him alone. Steve Stricker was obviously torn between his friendship with Tiger and his own high moral standards. Then there was Anthony Kim……He giggled through all of his comments……led me to believe he thinks he is gonna get Tigers little black book……….go figure.

by em66 on Dec 3, 2009 1:32 PM EST reply actions

Judgment?????

We keep hearing how the media and bloggers are somehow judging Tiger, and that he deserves his privacy. How dare we judge him?? So there seems to be a misconception among the “Cheaters” supporters and suck-ups. They seem to think that comments that are critical of Tiger are somehow placing “judgment” on Tiger. I have every right to comment and give my opinion of Tiger the golfer, the man, and the brand. To say I am judging him infers that I have some power to inflict judgment upon him, which I do not have, nor do I want it. Tiger will be judged and what you or I think makes no difference. So if I think he is a scum-sucking cheating jerk, so be it. Just my opinion.

by em66 on Dec 3, 2009 1:53 PM EST reply actions

Excellent post(other than the incorrect use of “infers” when you meant “implies”)!!! This “judgment” issue comes up everytime someone does something wrong and you call them on it…“Oh you’re so judgmental” or they’ll quote the Bible verse saying “Judge not lest you not be judged.” There is a vital difference between judging people, which only God can and will do, and judging the actions of people. Sometimes even in judging someone’s actions, it will be difficult, there will be gray areas, but not so in this case. This is about as black and white(no pun or racial meaning intended) as an issue can get. Tiger committed adultery; he engaged in multiple extramarital affairs; he lied and conspired to keep these transgressions from both his wife and the public. To say something like this…“I’m no fan of marital infidelity and a don’t condone it, but it’s an exercise in futility to apply my standards to someone I don’t know”…which pingforever said in another thread, is just about the most stupid, ignorant statement I’ve ever seen.

ps. I said the same thing about Tiger’s head and body size that the anonymous TGC poster says in your next post, I was called a racist and the whole thread was deleted….ahhh, how I miss that place…NOT!!!!

by niblic on Dec 3, 2009 2:37 PM EST up reply actions

Well then you haven’t been paying attention to lot of other posts. But I’m flattered you’d quote from mine. I agree that the Bible passage, Judge not lest you be judged, has been mis-applied often.

Stats:

You must be a stat fan. Consider these: We both came over here on 29th. You’ve made 109 comments, me a paltry 53… Counting the 29th that’s 5 days. That averages to 10.6 for me and 21.8 per day for you. Assuming you sleep (you do sleep don’t you) 7 hours per day. That means you comment at an average rate of 1.2 comments per hour for every waking hour. You did Goggler “logorrhea” didn’t you? I bow to your endurance!

by pingforever on Dec 3, 2009 3:06 PM EST up reply actions

LOL…you amuse me, sorta like the court jester would back in medieval times….you accuse me of not paying attention to a lot of other posts but you give no example and I seriously have no idea wtf you are talking about(per usual).
Then you’re flattered to be recognized for the most stupid, ignorant post I’ve ever seen.
But at least we agree on the misuse of the Bible quote…maybe this would be the start I talked about earlier today? (I ask knowing full well ping will come sniping back with something ridiculous…at least he won’t able to use the “foolish” excuse that he used earlier, since he just said how flattered he was to be called stupid/ignorant)

The man upstairs

I’m not a church goer, but I do believe in a higher power and that he is the one that judges each of us every day. If he didn’t want this to happen to TW then it wouldn’t be happening at all. Well apparently the man upstairs was the judge and jury and you know the rest. JMHO…jumpn/progolf

This was just posted by a "nameless" GC poster -

An open letter to Golf week, the Golf Channel and NBC and TMZ 2:23 AM. The time it all changed. It was all there in front of us the whole time. You chose to ignore it. Now I call on you to do your jobs. We know that Eldrick Woods is a cheater. In golf we ask the participants to call penalties on themselves. We also ask fellow competitors to "protect the integrity of the field." Eldrick Woods was willing to cheat repeatedly on the person he supposedly cares for most in the world. He thought no one was looking so he cheated. For personal gain, Woods cheated – again and again and again. What do you think he is willing to do to beat his fellow competitors for whom he cares nothing? Let’s look at some clues. Whose libido is running unchecked? Whose body has changed dramatically in the last ten years? Who looks like a greek god poured into a Nike Dri-Fit polo? Who has fits of rage on the golf course that the announcers chalk up to competitive fire? Until 2:23 AM I never questioned it. Now I want the media to do its job and protect the integrity of the field. If 103 baseball players got caught using performance enhancing drugs because they thought no one was looking, it follows that an admitted cheater with the body and the actions of a steroid user should have to prove he’s clean – repeatedly. Protect the integrity of the field. "

Another TGC post

"Wow, Wow Wow. I don’t know what planet you are from, but I don’t see any relationship between cheating on your wife and cheating in golf. That sort of stupid statement and article have no place here. When I see a guy cheat in golf I don’t trust him in business. When I see a guy cheat on his wife, it has no relationship to how I treat him in business. True, I feel sorry for him, and feel sorry for Tiger. But as Merle Haggard says: Yes Carolyn a man will do that sometimes on his own And sometimes when he’s lonely And I believe a man will do that sometimes out of spite But Carolyn, a man will do that always When he’s treated bad at home" So we don’t know Tiger’s situation and have no business judging him. I bet you would find a lot of readers admitting to cheating on their wives but not cheating at golf. "

by pingforever on Dec 3, 2009 3:18 PM EST up reply actions

Once again, you get it completely wrong…of course now we know why, your moral guide is Merle Haggard.

by niblic on Dec 3, 2009 3:39 PM EST up reply actions

Really, hmm. It was all right there in front of us, eh ? Whoever posted that has better eyes than me.

You’re definitely right, ping. Playing one game by the rules doesn’t mean you play ALL games by the rules. We may HOPE that the game’s standards affect the character of everybody who plays it…and it does for many of us…but not for everybody. How many of us hackers out here actually play by the rules without rolling the ball to a nice lie or don’t count the gimme or take lots of mulligans, much less the rest of the rules ?

One can only wonder when this well will run dry. I’m not sitting on the edge of chair waiting for one of those Jimmy Swaggart “I have sinned!” confessions. Whenever a man cheats on his wife I always wonder what his relationship with her was like. It seems the tone of comments is becoming incresingly nastier and more condemning. Perhaps when the Pope has expressed his outrage we’ll be done..

J&J

You know pard this blog isn’t very different from TGC, just no deleting option. Niblick1111 over there and niblic over here seems hell bent on virtually monoplizing the conversation and parsing comments (implied vs. inferred). The same righteous indignation. This Tiger Woods “Fall from Grace” story is only about 3 days old and yet it seems like it’s been going on for weeks. It looks like even 3irons is done dissing Tiger, and that’s saying something! I keep seeing that wide-eyed little child on MIke Douglas and now this. I’m 63 today. The last time I felt this old I missed qualifying for the Boston Marathon in 1988 by 5 f**kin minutes. It was important because my mother was terminally ill in Connecticut. I wanted to run that race for her. She died in August. Yeah, yeah nibs….TMI…. Take your best shot!

by pingforever on Dec 3, 2009 3:36 PM EST up reply actions

The Boston Marathon has qualifying ? I had no idea. Did you make it in ’89 ?

What difference does it make how many times niblic posts in the thread ? It’s not a vocal conversation where you can be shouted down or philibustered…and RB very rarely has to delete anything because the people here are good folks who agree and disagree civilly – not always politely – but we do our best to get along. Ryan “let’s us play”, and doesn’t play favorites. At the end of the day, we have always said that agree or disagree, we could all tee it up and enjoy playing together.

I don’t know what it’s like now but back then if you were over 40 you needed to do another sanctioned marathon in 3 hours and 15 minutes… No, I never did another foot race, switched to bicycling. You make an excellent point about number of posts. Afterall I don’t need to read them.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

You and I agree on many items along the blogging road, but I can’t agree with you on your comment that Waggle and TGC are even close to the same. TGC writers and so called Senior writers and self professed “panel of experts” on TV are a bunch of QVC pitchmen. Especially Lerner. The articles here are obviously written by a jury of our peers in the golfing world. Just regular guys like me and you without an AGENDA like TGC. The postings here are a lot better IMHO. I don’t take sides with anyone as we all have a right to our comments, agree or disagree. I am only 52 and am at the one year anniversary of my heart attack and am doing quite well. “Any day above ground for me is a good day at this point” I thank my lucky stars everyday that I am still here and able to manage my company and am able to play golf. I spent 11 years in the boxing ring and fought a lot of tough battles, but almost lost the battle of my life on the table in the hospital with nobody that I knew in the same room. Today I look at life a lot differently and with a much more open mind set, but that never stops me from making an opinion on things. As you know I’ve met many a tour pro and have spent over 20 years in the business and I believe what TW did was a disgrace to his family and to our sport and has cast a grey cloud over the tour in more ways than one, mostly in a “guilty by association” way mind you. As far as 3irons not commenting goes,,well theres a 1000 reasons why he may not be posting, don’t just assume. BTW, come play golf with us in Vegas in January…jumpn/progolf

pro – something to consider. Freedom of Speech, aside from the bastardized version of the First Amendment we see used these days, deals with political speech to protect Americans from having the government come back at someone for making a speech against the government.

As much as we like to think that blogs and boards are open forums – they are NOT necessarily open for people to say anything they want. The boards at TGC are OWNED by TGC, and they have the right to control what goes on their site – just like you, for instance, have the right to toss someone out of your house if they say or act in a way you don’t want there.. The same thing holds true for Waggle Room, but the rules here are a lot more relaxed than at TGC. Ryan still has a responsibility to the owners of the site to have a bit of control over the language and behavior of the posts and posters.

Luckily, if someone crosses the line here…which doesn’t happen very often…you can be pretty sure that Ryan will be willing to give an explanation if it is requested.

Really, when I turn on xxx GC I don’t want to feel like I am watching E! network. Or, for that matter, any of those shows that are on from 7-8pm in most cities like “Entertainment Tonight” or “Extra” etc. I want to see … well … golf!

I can understand why this story is so interesting to a lot of people, the high and mighty getting their comeuppance and all, but at the same time, I would rather be talking about Q-School, and whether Duval will make it through all five days, the Chevron tourney (with ot without Woods) and whether or not a lot of courses will have financial troubles next year as the Great Recession rolls on. That’s 10,000 times more interesting to me now that we know that Tiger Woods cannot afford zippers that stay up.

Have I lost respect for him as a man? You betcha.

But I also didn’t fall off of the apple truck last week and I am quite sure that Tiger is by no means the only one who plats the wrong hole after he gets off of the course. I would bet that a LOT of PGA Tour players do the same thing.

by Charles Boyer on Dec 3, 2009 4:34 PM EST reply actions

Because Tiger got so big , his fall is a lot harder. He isn’t the first golf pro to do this and certainly won’t be the last. This has no bearing on the game whatsoever. He plays the game by the rules like anyone else, indeed, as he is on camera more than anyone else, it’s impossible to do otherwise. Baseball, athletics, Football etc have had steroid cheats allowed back in to compete. Golf is better than that. Now, if Tiger uses them and gets caught, thats a different matter.

by Easingwold on Dec 3, 2009 4:50 PM EST up reply actions

Lesson learned! 300 million to “keep it in your pants”. Wow! Expensive lesson, but he’s not the first, nor is he the last to do this. It will continue to happen, as men have a tendency to think with the “wrong head” most of the time. If you want to comment on Tiger Woods affair, head on over to my blog and give me your “2 cents” worth.
