If a Tiger Falls in the Woods, Does anybody hear it??

Our Fair Tiger has fallen on his....ahem......sword.  It is obvious the lad was suffering from I can get away with it 'itis.   Now that he has been.....um.....exposed, well let's just say his face is RED, but not that familiar victory hue we're all used to.  So what to do now el tigre?  Well my man i offer this;  get on with it man.  Come out of the.....er......Woods, or in your case "bushes" and just man up.  You got caught.  You're not the first and you surely won't be the last.  Time to be pro-active. Don't go on Oprah, that's too easy. Go on Limbaugh. Even though he'd like to really slam you, he can't.  You see, he's human too, and the sound you'll hear is his closet swinging open.  Or, go on Ellen's show you can talk to her, she's been out of her closet for some time now + she's probably the only other person who has been with more blondes than you.  You see man this is the deal. You've been knocked from heaven, and you landed on earth.  Talk to us humans, and we'll move on. Come out of the Woods, or closet, or desert, or yacht, or wherever.......We will hear you, and accept your apology.....But do it soon, because the next fall you can take will land you in Hell.....even if it's here on earth. Peace.

F's and G's.....let me be the first

to comment on your article. Great job. I agree with most of what you’re saying, but it may be too late now to get the kind of forgiveness he would have gotten had he “fessed” up a couple of weeks ago. I heard that an NBC poll had his “favorable” rating at 5%, down from 88%, which was the highest for any athlete. As you said, he’s been “knocked” down severely.

Thanks, and i hear you

I wonder if the golfing public has abandoned him at such an alarming rate. I can understand housewives, and grandmas. But surely Joe Sixpack is just waiting to hear from the guy, so we can all relax, and stop talking of this mess. I mean noone wants to finish a round and slip into the 19th hole, and be confronted with TW gossip. Tiger please end this “story”, and just face your accusers. Thanks again 66er. Look forward to mixing it up with you going forward. Godspeed.

I agree, good stuff.
Do you think he really will, or is the strategy to just wait it out?
With the impending divorce, could this all end up on Court TV?

I write about golf at www.tees2greens.com, too.

Now i am "clueless!"

Looks like it’s the wait it out route, but seems like a mistake. Oh well, The Golf must go on. The King is hiding, long live the king. Can’t worry about the player….must enjoy the game without him. As mentioned. Golf is bigger than any one player. I’m interested to see who will step up, and if they’ll look the Tiger in the eye when (if) he comes back this year. There’s always a story in Golf. This is already the most interesting off-season i can remember. I mean Geez!!

It's amazing how fast..

public perception can change. This thing has been blown WAY out of proportion. President Clinton didn’t catch this much heat over his “transgressions”, and here we are acting like Tiger killed somebody. Watch how fast his popularity returns when he gets back to doing what he does best, winning golf tournaments, especially if he wins a major or two next year. Truth be told, this will only increase the interest level in him and it will likely even draw more viewers when he plays. His first event back will be a media circus like golf has never seen. Ok so we know Tiger is a very bad husband and he likes to party it up in Vegas with the ladies; at least we now know a little something about him because we sure didn’t before. In my opinion this needed to happen, he needed to get knocked down hard. It will be good for him and lead him on a more noble path, IMHO. Time will tell of course, but it’s simply not wise to write somebody off for making these kind of mistakes. What’s most important now is whether or not he learns from it and uses it to become a better man; I think he will.

Roll Tide !!

Tigerhead............

I hear you, and share your opinions to a point. I hope he is taking this time to reflect, and truly turn things around. He has a responsibility to his fans, golf, and thr youngsters to make amends for his “transgressions”. So if he must fix his family “issues” then by all means do so, but he (even if he doesn’t think so) must fix things with his supporters. Then we can get back to cheering “da man” on. I HOPE he does what you think he will.

Personally,

I couldn’t give a damn if he returns or not. He has been amazing , no doubt, but he has never neen the be all and end all of golf as far as I am concerned. In my opinon, anyone who hinges golf on his results is not a fan of golf anyway. Admire him, yes, but never say he IS golf…thats just plain daft.

Easy there, Easy.....if we were at TGC

you would be labeled a racist and a bigot and a hater…….I’m glad we’re here. I agree with you. Tiger playing or not playing makes no difference to me. If he comes back with a contrite attitude and actually gives a crap about his fans and doesn’t come across as an arrogant jerk, then maybe I could enjoy watching him………anybody want to bet a billion $$$ he comes back the same or worse????

Point taken,,,,,,but.

The thing with Tiger is this. He has always been polarizing….Seems the (i was a fan before he got there) crowd always resented his stardom, or status in golf. Against the Tiger (wow he’s cool and a great golfer) crowd never allowed us to enjoy the genius of his game. So now these two facets are pushed further apart than ever……I lament though, because the greatness of the guys golf has always been overshadowed by this ongoing “i never liked him vs. I always liked him” battle. As a golf fan I have always marveled at his ability to produce the best golf at the most dramatic and important moments. I just wonder if the “true golf fans” have missed the truly great golf, because of …….well……..whatever. Just as i wonder if the “new golf fans” understand what Golf represents in the grand scheme of Life. Well here’s to truly great golf in 2K10 no matter who’s producing. Long live the game…….It will always be the “Story”..

Very good points! Although I can't

stand to watch him now, I loved watching him early on and marveled at his “genius”. The problem for me was the fact that there are other “geniuses” out there we very rarely got to see, because it was necessary to watch Tiger eat an apple or pick his nose. The “These Guys Are Good” manta could have easily been changed to say “This Guy is Good”, because that’s all we saw. TV viewership was down during Tigers absence, but I watched more golf because I wanted to see the “geniuses” that were still playing. I believe it should remain “These Guys are Good”.

I concur sir!!

And might i say that your post;; right now!!, explains the “true golf fans” take on this whole Tiger thing very well. 66er that is the most articulate, and insightful reasoning i have heard on this subject…….Thank You. These guys truly are good, BUT…….he wins so damned much, and with such a flair. Still, thank you for this post…. Awesome.

F&G's

See that,,Its relatively civil over here compared to TGC. Lots to read and comment on and you can write yer own as well,, and this is the off season. I can’t wait for the new season too begin. Jan. 7th 2010. I just have one question ???? Is that a divot on Rich Lerners head or a hair piece ?? buahaha,,,,,jumpn/progolf

Jumpn.........

I can’t wait either, and though civility is the tone of the day. I’m sure some of our “shots” will stray into the rough. I will remember the gentlemanly nature of the game we love though, and scurry to get back in the fairway. As to Lerner…….well…….fairway i choose the fairway…. No that’s a clean “lie” if i ever saw one Lol…….

by Fairways and Grins on Dec 21, 2009 7:56 PM EST up reply actions

F&G, JUMPIN, EASING...

CIVILITY is the ability of rational people to listen and agree to disagree with other peoples OPINIONS….in this instance, i have to defer to EASING…No one person is the game…Yes, I admired his extraordinary talent….but I grew weary of having him force fed to me…Lerner’s hair….do you think he will compete with The Donald on the new series?..EASING…are you sitting there fondling the new sticks yet?….STUB

New clubs

Hello, old friend, Stub…they have been purchased on the understanding I can have them on Chridtmas day, lol. We have had a lot of snow and everywhere is closed here, even the driving ranges. I tested them 4 times and 3 irons is right, they are amazing compared to my old DCI’s. Funny how even at my age I can be like a child with a new toy. All golfers do this, I do know, so I can laugh at myself. Now if Santa brings me a matching bag….all the best mate.

Easing............

Hit ’em straight………Play great……….Stay out late……….and enjoy, mate……..Merry Christmas..

by Fairways and Grins on Dec 23, 2009 5:03 PM EST reply actions

EVEN SOONER

EASING, you can enjoy them much sooner if you heed my suggestion here…tonight, when you climb into bed, have 3-4 clubs with you….it might help to have 3-4 single malts first, but “TRUST ME” you will be able to have the clubs immediately…ALOHA,…STUB

by thinker on Dec 23, 2009 5:19 PM EST reply actions

Stub........

That’s how Tiger got in this mess, He went to bed with his new “SHAG BAG”, had a dream, and only remembered “SHAG” . Don’t do it Easing………3-4 Malts……3-4 Clubs……..3-4……..Be careful…..lol.
