LPGA Q-School, Day 1: High Scores Ruled
It was a tough scoring day in the first round of the LPGA Tour Q-School tournament down in Daytona Beach, Florida. The leader is Nikki Garrett, who holds a one stroke lead over feature attraction Gwladys Nocera of France.
Duke grad Amanda Blumenherst is in at even par, good enough for a tie for seventeenth.
The top 70 and ties after Sunday's round make it to the fifth and final round on Monday.
The Constructivist will surely have an in-depth recap later. He'll put the full field results into context. But some recognizable names in trouble that I noticed were: Kris Tschetter, Charlotte Mayorkas, uber-hottie Sophia Sheridan, Duramed Futures Tour Q-School medalist and Waggle Room member Tiffany Joh, Facebook pals Carling Coffing and Angela Oh, former Kraft Nabisco Championship runner up Aree Song, and Dorothy Delasin in dead last with a 90 today.

Windy day. Tornado watch tonight. Assuming none shows up and the prediction of 5-10 mph winds and cloudy conditions holds up tomorrow, look for lots of low scores!
