The New Golf Channel Studio Is A Huge Makeover
Golf Channel's Orlando studios are kind of bland. They're what you would expect for a news network - traditional, understated. But, starting in 2010, Golf Channel's studio programming will be shot in a new, more modern home. The network has released a few photos of its new studios.
The studio has the Golf Central desk in the center of it. The desk rotates so the show can have multiple backdrops, which is pretty cool. There will be a special analyst area for video analysis, kind of like what the ESPN NFL Countdown show has for Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter.
As you can see from the photo, there will be a LOT of monitors used for a variety of purposes.
Also, there will be a new demonstration area with a putting green, sand trap, and tee box. The studio will also feature a golf simulator on a 25 by 13 foot screen for demos.
It will be a big makeover for the network, which has been kind of vanilla with its studio programming. Finally the studio shows will have a set that is contemporary, a la The 19th Hole show.

If they would make-over the so-called senior writers and so-called panel of experts then we would have something. I think Lerner, Tilghman and Kahn’s would make good product demonstraters / pitchmen on QVC or HSN. JMHO

I dunno, this channel you guys have cops a lot of crap form everyone but I for one would love to have something like it down here. 24 hour golf! yes please. Set looks good. S’pose it all comes back to content though…
you guys have good broadcasters – we get flashy studios and low rent broadcasters like Johnny Miller…you’re not missing all that much…though I am a little surprised that other countries don’t pick up xxx Golf Channel for their cable/satellite systems.

There used to be a Golf Channel UK, but that got shut down. That’s why Tom Abbott is on over here in the States.
