A Quick Video Look Inside Nike Golf's Testing Garage

Yesterday, I took a trip to Nike Golf's the Oven facility in Ft. Worth, Texas, to get fitted for a full set of Nike golf equipment. I'll tell you a little bit more about the whole experience tomorrow, but wanted to give you a quick video peek around the place.

I spent a lot of time inside of the testing/fitting garage at the Oven, so I wanted to give you a quick panorama of the building.

Good stuff, RB.

Of all the places they could’ve built…Ft Worth ?? Is it as simple as Hank Haney’s HQ and his #1 student ?

It turns out that they’re there because they started by hiring some old Hogan employees that were based in Ft. Worth that didn’t want to move to Georgia when Hogan left Texas. They started a company that teamed up with Nike to produce some of their club designs. They vowed to remain in Texas and true to Hogan’s roots, so Nike agreed and built there.

I thought that was really admirable that they stuck to their guns to stay there. Curiously enough, the entire golf ball operation is in near their main campus in Beaverton, Oregon.

well – Ft Worth isn’t exactly a podunk town – lots of money and, as handi pointed out, plenty of touring pros in the area.

(however – somewhat , but not a huge secret – most of Nike’s balls are manufactured just east of Atlanta in Covington at the Bridgestone factory. designed in Oregon – but not made there)

That’s absolutely true on all counts :) They just don’t want to mention farming out the golf ball making. Just like Terrapin beer from Georgia is made here in Maryland by Flying Dog.
