Rachel Uchitel to Waggle Room on Woods Rumor: "This Is Absolutely 100% Not True"
I spoke with Rachel Uchitel, the New York City woman identified by the National Enquirer in this week's issue as having carried on an affair with golfer Tiger Woods. Internet rumors have swirled since the initial release of the Enquirer to newsstands on Wednesday. A car accident involving only Woods outside of his Isleworth home on early Friday morning fueled further speculation that the accident and the Enquirer report were somehow connected.
Uchitel and I spoke on the phone on Friday evening to get her side of the story concerning the Enquirer article despite "not [being] supposed to talk much about this yet."
Uchitel vehemently and patently denied the allegations made in the Enquirer piece. Uchitel told Waggle Room that although she spoke to the Enquirer for the piece that her quotes were not published.
"My quotes were not even run [by the Enquirer]," Uchitel said. "Their story was not even close to the conversation that we had."
The New York City native is the Director of VIP services for Pink Elephant, a company that specializes in the nightclub scene in the Big Apple. Uchitel told me that the story runs contradictory to what her job entails.
"As part of my job, I have to keep many secrets about celebrities, so for [the Enquirer to report] me as going around telling people about something like this doesn't make sense." Uchitel added, "I'm not that big of an idiot."
"Other things have happened in my past that would prevent me from doing anything like this," Uchitel said - an allusion to prior celebrity rag reports that she has been linked to other celebrities and athletes. "I have traveled with men that are quietly more important than Tiger Woods and it is incredibly difficult to get to their hotel room."
Uchitel said that the purported facts behind the Woods story "don't make common sense."
Uchitel said that she is frequently considered the subject of these kinds of rumors because she is often photographed with the celebrities that she is expected to cater to as part of her job.
The 34 year old was vehement when she said, "My job has nothing to do with my sexual past."
As for Ashley Samson - the woman that was the source for the Enquirer story, Uchitel told me that she is not her friend and what she told the Enquirer was "completely outlandish" insinuating that Samson may have spoken to the magazine in exchange for a sizable payout.
"These reporters should do some fact checking and research on who supplied this information [to the Enquirer]."
As a former television producer for Bloomberg, Uchitel was appalled at the lack of research into the facts of the story and how it was told.
Uchitel is concerned that these reports will ruin her place within her industry.
Further, Uchitel is hurt that she is being judged by strangers that don't know her and people "writing about stuff that they don't know."
She thanked me for the opportunity to tell her side of the story - something she feels has yet to have come out throughout this situation.

Good for you for getting this Ryan. It’s interesting that others are just content to publish/re-publish/rip & read the NE w/out even mentioning that they are trying to get a hold of Uchitel.
It’s just easier to do that I guess.
This is the type of behavior that will elevate golf blogging from copycat rumor mongering to something more respectful (yeah I just said that w/a straight face).

NiceBallz,
Here is what the NE said about Rachel Uchitel today…
“Rachel traveled to Australia to meet with Tiger while he played earlier this month in the Australian Masters, both sources said. BUT Rachel initially told us she traveled there with a boyfriend.
In a later conversation, however, she admitted to The ENQUIRER she had lied about going to Australia with a boyfriend. She said she was in the country “for business.”
She also said she was not in Tiger’s hotel. But an Enquirer reporter eye witnessed her IN the hotel.
She then said she did not go to the floor of the hotel where Tiger was staying.
BUT an ENQUIRER reporter in Melbourne watched as Rachel checked in to the posh Crown Towers hotel, and went up to the 35th floor, which houses the hotel’s ritzy VIP Suite. Tiger was staying in the same hotel, according to local press reports.
Rachel also told The ENQUIRER “I don’t want to be with a married man.” But Rachel cheated with Bones star David Boreanaz during his wife Jaime’s recent pregnancy, according to Star magazine."

Thanks progolf, I am a refugee from TGC…I’m so sick of having my comments, all comments, deleted over there.
This latest development…Tiger’s lawyer calling the FHP and saying that Tiger would not be meeting with them again today…is interesting. It sounds exactly like what Tiger said to the PGA Tour recently when they were going to fine him for some behavior, which I can’t remember specifically right now, he called the PGA Tour and said there would be no fine, and there was no fine. Incredible arrogance! Too bad His Arrogance can’t call the National Enquirer and tell them there will be no further stories about His Arrogance’s sexual marital infidelities.
Have I fallen through the looking glass?(reference to the new Tim Burton movie due out soon this holiday season, “Alice in Wonderland”) Who would have ever thought that the responsible media would be the National Enquirer’s and the TMZ’s of the world?

Tiger Stupid??
While I would like some answers, it is hard for me to comprehend that Tiger could be so stupid as to think he (as one of the most recognized people in the world) could not get caught screwing around. Unfortunately every thing seems to point in the wrong direction. Too many strange things going on. NE article comes out a couple of days before this accident and then the time of night…….say it aint so. As Tigerhead says, we may never know the answer, but there will always be this shadow hanging over him.

Tiger stupid? People are stupid!
Seriously, since when does responsible media mean covering rumors swirling about a golfer’s ALLEGED affair. Numerous wars in the world, an economy in the toilet and people are concerned about this? Scaaaaarrrryyy when society is more concerned with “reality tv”, which this basically is. Salahi story, case in point. Let Tiger deal with his stuff in private, and let his golfing do the talking.

Tiger stupid? People are stupid !
Judging Tiger’s poor performance in the BIG events this year, I think it is accurate to suggest he wasn’t quite himself in 2009. Perhaps his legendary(sic) focus wasn’t 100% on his golf, but on this NYC hose monkey ! His behavior on the course was anything but Tiger like, so apparently his golfing talents were being distracted by something. Having a bimbo in the closet will do that to you ! Where is Stevie when you need him to “take one for the team” LMAO…………………………….Z.

Rachel Rachel
I’m sorry if I repeat something here…I could read the other 8 comments. Honestly, do you think anyone is going to believe what this woman says? She must have been paid off, right? It’s a fact that people think things they agree with are true…. If trhey don’t agree they are false..

My Man from Whisper Rock
3i’s: Have you told everyone you are a part native American, semi-retired pro yet? May I suggest you begin coding your comments: #1 for anti-Tiger, #2 for anti-Obama, #3 for anti-NIke… #31/2 for anti-Macer. Once everyone understands the code it’ll save you a huge amount of time and many KB’s of web space. Buckle-up folks, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. BTW – In my previous comment (Rachel, Rachel), meant to say "I could NOT read the other eight comments, but after I posted it I found five of them from old friends.
